West Brom midfielder Chris Brunt has been suspended for one-match and fined £8,000 after accepting a charge of abusing a match official.

For any Brunt haters cheering - he's been great as a full-back for us.
As for his 'cultured left foot crosses' (as commentators still go on about - i.e. they haven't watched us for ages) I'm still dumbfounded. He used to be quality but seems to have lost it.
Is it due to the abuse he STILL gets? I dunno, but he's an Albion stalwart and it's not necessary.
Hope the 'match official' is banned for the rest of the season

All that went on down Vile Park that day, is Brunt the only one to be punished? Have I missed something? Don't suppose the crap officials will come under any scrutiny. The FA's a joke. Talk about the bold gendarmes.
Willie,
Thanks for your good words about Brunty. It's not, as someone put it, that I think he's the best thing since sliced bread - just that he's a good footballer and clubman who is singled out for a rough deal from some followers, in my opinion.

So, Poco or Lescott at left back? I think we know the answer to that one...

BaggyBomber - it really sickens me when our fans have a go at any of our players.
Discuss their performances by all means, whether good or bad, but on match day cheer them on.
They are just people. They can hear the abuse and that is not going to produce good results.

It sickens and hurts me as well, Willie. I want our players to be happy here and feel like part of the Albion family, especially if they appear to be decent people and good clubmen. A bit idealistic, I know.

I presume you are suggesting Lescott will be left back, vicar? You any thoughts on why TP doesn't select Pocognoli? The Welsh don't have any particular beef (or should that be "lamb") with the Belgians, do they? I believe TP must have a solid reason.

If height (or lack, of it) was always an issue at all levels (i.e. Junior Football) for team selection, I would never have been picked but, at full back I was what the Welsh call 'tidy'.
Mind you we weren't expect to overlap and put crosses in, in those days.
Some days I'm top dog, most days I'm just the lamp post.

Gamboa is claiming TP is not playing him because he is not tall enough
