Happy Birthday and fond memories

For those of a certain age.

Today would have been the 70th birthday of the late great Laurie Cunningham.

Happy birthday mate, you are a legend and were fantastic to watch and I am proud to say you were a baggie. You brought many hours of pleasure at the shrine. You will never be forgotten, you have been joined by cyrille in a heavens eleven.

My favourite EVER player!
I particularly remember the game v a star studded Valencia, when LC played what seemed to be almost in 3rd gear; socks rolled down and vaulting over and cruising away from the (literally) thigh high tackles coming in.
What a player!!
RIP LC Peace dove Peace dove

As much as I loved the three degrees, all of them, they graced the Hawthorns turf in a time when it was very very difficult to be a black footballer, they were trailblazers making it possible for generations of minority group footballers to follow their dreams, Cryille was always my favourite of the three, as a young lad I was drawn to the goal scorer not the goal creator, but my all time baggies hero is and always will be the legend that is “Tony BOMBER Brown”.
Oh for some of that talent, commitment and pride in the shirt now …..

Always remember that quote from Atkinson about him; ""he could run on snow and not leave a footprint"?
