Sports Predictions 2026
#71
I was considering a long walk up the cut, folllowed by a longer stagger back by the pubs on the way back this afternoon. This got in the way.

Check your predictions please. Think I've got 'em reight but that never knows tha' knows. I think we've all got one or two to fill in or replace before the deadlines come up. Snoots has most but he aint the only one. SCO miles in front, sort of. Well, Wendies are at least top of somat at the moment. Tongue

Looks OK to me, theo, except that I should have 49 as my Play-off Decider.

Not sure if there is a problem with the images you put up but I cannot see any of them. Is there something you can add or send me that I can look at or am I good to go?

You're the first to mention it SCO since I started using freeimage.host. Is it the same on a phone and a laptop?

Either way, I've created a pdf file and attached it to the reply

India v New Zealand in the T20 cricket final this weekend as England came up a few samosas short of a victory today.
The F1 boys get their shiny new cars and shiny new rules and a shiny new team out of pit lane in Melbourne. Good luck if you've got a Honda engine, apparently they could shake you or your car to bits with all the (not very good) vibrations. Haven't they heard of rubber mounting bushes?

Moto GP started last weekend with Marc Marquez giving everyone else a sporting chance after sliding off his bike.
Snoots, tsk, tsk, you missed the deadline on that one. Easy to miss but I did warn everyone it was in the November dates - get your bike in gear and your leathers polished by the weekend or you'll miss out on this one, please.

Well that was an interesting weekend of sport - if you were lucky enough to not be watching Town on Saturday. Well done to Port Vale today. Who do they play next week again? Pass the clay pipe.

Oh how we laughed at the Egg Chasers when Scotland lost to Italy the other week. They've since gone on to beat everyone else. 90 points shared in 80 minutes in Saturday's game against France suggests that neither of them could stop a greased haggis in a ginnel between them. Then England went to Italy and continued their losing run. Doh

If Scotland win in Ireland they'll set all kinds of records since it became the 6 Nations - for Scotland. If only they'd stayed off the pizza and pasta in Rome they might be hosed and home (yes, I know, I did it on purpose), but you know what they say - when in Rome - drink the wine too. Get hosed first.

The F1 boys got off to an interesting start in their shiny new cars with shiny new engines Darn Unda in Melbourne. At least 2 drivers, Crash in Qualy and Aussie fave Piastri just trying to get to the grid, found these new engines are, er, a tad unpredictable. Aston Martin have already ruined most of their batteries, so just used the race as an extra practice session. After round 1, Mercedes seem to have their act most together so far, followed by Ferrari, with McLaren using the same Merc engines as the Mercs a little off the pace. That Crash got from last to 6th in these new squirrely go-karts, and that his team mate also managed to severely damage his, says a lot for what he learned from his 5 seconds or so of Qualy.

That might put a spanner in the gear box and a broken fuse in the hybrid part of our predictions so far, but it's a long old jog in and out of the kitty litter, not a sprint to stay between the white lines and in any case, you've a few other races where you can change your predictions to come over the year. A couple of races or so coming up might have to be abandoned thanks to someone's bigliest of big Armadas causing havoc in the Gulf and the Eastern Med. Aircraft seem to be avoiding the area, including the RAF, and you might not be too sure what that drone following you round the track might have in its nose. They go again in China next weekend, which means they can avoid The Gulf for a while and patch up any bits of missing bits of carbon fibre with as much duct tape (gaffa tape) as Amazon can deliver from Canada. (Canada's favourite tool).

Which brings us to Cricket and India winning the T20 at a canter. Thumb up New Zealand continued the tradition of asking India to bat first in India and like everyone else including England in the semi's, saw them wallop up a hugemungeous score. You know what they say, when in India, lay off the "fresh" salad, fruit, veg as you've no idea what they washed it in. In my experience, if you could lay off all food and drink in general in a lot of India you might cut visits to the loo down to less that 6 times a day. Difficult if you are there for more than a week, I know. I was there for a few 3 and 4 week stints. Oooh, me farmers. Doh

That all means points to SHEP and jjamez. The rest of us had an ass wiping bad tournament.

So this week, we've got the 4 Day All Ireland Guinness Drinking Championships at Cheltenham. The Ladies World Rock sliding, over vigorous use of a broom and loud screaming gets underway in Calgary next weekend and the 6 Nations Egg Chasing finishes next weekend too. Did nobody think of Scotland?
