Well, well, well... The broader implications here are astounding.
Not least of which is this explains how and why a bus driver who only worked and resided in the UK for 30 years managed to buy multiple houses. If they're borrowing money with no interest by using 'religious exemption' then it makes perfect sense as to how they've managed it.
You or I would be faced with about 30% of the properties value in interest.

Don't worry though. The government assures us that 'in the end' the muslim student's will pay the same as you, despite years of you being subject to inflation on your interest or interest arbitrarily rising.
