Our final game of 2025 ended with us getting a clean sheet and a point. Blackburn came close with a effort from the edge of the box that went just wide. Bannan came close with our best chance of the first half when he lobbed the keeper but the ball landed just wide of the net. Onto the 2nd half and Rovers came close but Charles steered it for a corner. Thornton had a effort blocked and Otegabyo steered wide. Blackburn had a great chance to take the lead but Ohashi somehow headed wide and Cantwell had another chance but saw his chance deflected wide.

Our first fixture of 2026 sees us travel over the Pennines to take on Preston. Preston are having a good season and currently lie in 7th place just 1 point out of the playoff race. They have a good chance as anyone in the top half of the table to make the playoffs and with maybe one or two additions in the transfer window they might just achieve that goal. They are managed by Paul Heckingbottom who has been in charge since August 2024. There leading scorer this season is Daniel Jebbison who has 5 goals so far this season.

Last month the 12th man refused to show Offiah a red when he deliberately knocked the ball away with his hand in the penalty area, despite being on a yellow already.
The 12th man also denied the first penalty when Lindsay clearly handled the ball in the area.

I wonder what anomalies we'll be subject to tomorrow in the next edition of 'Thing's that aren't happening'

RIP my mother-in-law...who died last night and has been cremated today. She was a good loving old girl who never once took sides and lived with us due to illness the last 10 years.
RIP my barber of 10.years last week as well . I think skinhead is on the menu again next year .

2025 was not easy economically but I managed to get through it. I feel 2026 is going to be harder but where there's a will there's a way and if not the palm tree is a good place to hang from .
