Still none the wiser regarding who is moaning about what. I can't be bothered removing individual images so I've deleted my match threads from this month and last month.

Just what I think, Dev. If it's available on Google Images, it's available for use by anyone at any time. What is the point of having Google Images if not for this use?
That's a big shame, theo. All that work down the pan, just because some twerp is throwing a hissy fit.

This site is hardly Faceache or Twatter is it?
I agree Snoots but with Stairs not being specific about what images/website a certain content owner has issued some kind of "Cease and Decist" message, and I suspect it's probably only one website/content creator so far, he's rightly worried others may follow. I doubt I'll spend an afternoon on match threads in future and I still don't know if it's images on my match threads or others that are the issues. Stairs needs to share with us the real issue and not the knicker wetting we've had so far. I think we're all grown up enough on here to understand it and deal with it going forward.

Truth is it would cost more to mount a legal challenge than any award could cover. No lawyer in his right mind would take it on, because there would be no profit in it for him. Babble is tiny, it's the corner shop of the internet. I use the masculine for lawyer because I'm sure no female would even consider it.
Sites like Shutterstock or Dreamstime mark pictures as copyright. Some porno sites used to make copy and save impossible.
The internet is full of all kinds of pictures which recur on all kinds of sites. How did that happen? Could it be because it harmed no one and actually was of benefit to the picture and its taker - especially when credited.

On top of that nobody will buy anything when they know there's a dispute going on and they don't know what that dispute is.

Absolutely right Theo. It has made the site unsellable for Stairs.
If you look at news sites on the net they will all run the same story, with the same copy and the same picture. How did that happen? Were they all out simultaneously covering the story and taking pictures - The Leppings Lane police version of identical notes?

They all use the Reuters or the PA Media versions Devon. None of them have proper reporters anymore, just click bait generators. I wonder which pub or restaurant from somewhere within a 10-25 mile radius of Huddersfield will get a full screen review on tomorrow's Yorkshire Live/Unexamined web pages along with photo's of their humongous Yorkshire Puddings and gravy? There sure as hell won't be a match report on the Mansfield v Town game.
Not sure about a corner shop Devon - more like the illuminated trays the ladies used to sell ice creams and drinks from in the intervals at the cinema.
PPPPPPEEEEEEAAAAAANNNNNUUUUUTTTTTSSSSSS and Kia-Ora now available in the foyer.

Way back in the day at Easter Road the cry used to be "Erza Wrigley's Spearmint and a Macaroon Bar" from the non-illuminated trays. The floodlights came in very useful! Ah, the Golden Days of the Dark Ages.

Of course you are right about Reuters, but what is the difference between that a Terrier fan producing one of your wonderful match previews full of images and probably some descriptions gathered from around the net?
I'll miss reading those posts and seeing those images because they were better than anything you find on more official. ChesterfieldFC's match previews on its website for instance are just functional - they aren't a patch on what people produce on here.
