There's a TV film just started ("Bless 'em All"), and it took me back nearly 60 years! Laugh

We used to sing it (in the Brummie Road) when Everton came to play. To the tune of "Bless 'em All, The Long and the Short and the Tall":-

F*** 'em all
F*** 'em all
Especially Alan Ball
We'll never be mastered
By that little B*****d
So sing up you lads
F*** 'em all!!!

Big Grin

No doubt we copied it off Liverpool........ Any other comical football songs from the past to chuckle to???

Not a song but a chant. The first time I ever went to a game at Abroath’s ground, Gayfield, (25 years ago) I heard that fabulous chant from the Partick fans:”You only sing when you’re fishing”. I’m sure all visiting fans sing it at fishing port grounds but it was so funny the first time I heard it

I enjoyed the one we sang at the Manor Ground in Oxford about 25 years ago, to the tune of When the saints go marching in -
My garden shed is bigger than this
my garden shed is bigger than this
it's got a door and a window
my garden shed is bigger than this

But it was a poor game and we lost, so ti fell a bit flat.

I think there might have been two other verses, one being

"My boxer shorts are bigger than this
My boxer shorts are bigger than this
they've got a hole and a skid mark
my boxer shorts are bigger than this "

Then another with 'my budgies cage, which has a perch and a mirror'.

Just overheard a song (in an old Welsh film). The song was "Bread of Heaven", and it was the Brummie Road's favourite back in the 60s. Never heard any other Teams' fans sing it. Our words were:-

Greatest Albion
Greatest Albion
We'll support you evermore
(Evermore!!!)
We'll support you-u evermore

I'd forgotten all about it, and can't remember when we stopped singing it. But it was definitely our anthem back then - especially after we'd scored a goal.

Any more great songs/chants?

I remember a game in the run up to Christmas at home to Coventry, we won 5 nil, the Albion fans were singing

You should have gone Christmas shopping, you should have gone Christmas shopppppping, gone Christmas shopping, you should have gone christmas shoppppppping.

Made me smile.

One or two Man Utd ones about Munich that now make me cringe, and during the high unemployment of the eighties, one for the scousers, to their tune of you’ll never walk alone …

You’ll never work again, you’ll neeevvveeer work again, sign on, sign in, with dole in your hand, cause you’ll never work again.

One for the Londoners ….

He’s only a poor little cockney his Face Is all tattered and torn, they got on our wicks so we hit them with bricks, and now they don’t sing anymore.

I know we had many many more but my aged brain can not recall them. Please remind me.

For me the best ever was the chant sung when Andy Gorham started playing again after being diagnosed with schizophrenia:

There’s only one Andy Gorham,
One Andy Gorham,
There’s only one Andy Gorham.

It was "there's only two Andy Gorams," wasn't it?
