The appointment could work, if his backroom is right and well thought out. It's a big step going from a goalkeeper who does well coaching strikers to coaching the whole group.

For me we need progressive coaches not run of the mill or old fashioned. I've looked at some players he's been in squads with who now coach, they include Shay given, who'd be a good goalkeeper coach, Rory delap, who's followed Robbie Keane a few places, lee bullen who was part of the furniture at wednesday wasn't he sco?

He's also played with duff, pato, Moore, rob Edwards and Ian evatt so that doesn't mean much

Yes, Bullen still has legend status at Wednesday. He was captain for our 2005 playoff win, been caretaker 3 times and left us to go manage Ayr Utd in Scotland where he got them to the playoffs. He's a no nonsense, old school type as a coach, just like he was as a player.

So he's a bit like Colin then? Kevin the Gerbil got on really well with Colin. (Cough). Whistle

Are we untouchable? They shouldn't have shat on Warnock. I think the word has spread that the lunatics are in charge of the asylum. I'm exaggerating but we can't be a good proposition. I wouldn't want to deal with someone who clearly knows nothing about English football, or dare I say it, Yorkshire people? On top of that there's smarmy Jake who has looked untrustworthy from the first. All we'll get is someone with no worthwhile credentials, who knows they'll get a pay out when it goes tits up. Whereas we need someone to give two hoots but they won't touch us with a bargepole, will they?

I'm feeling a bit pessimistic!

Noted that he's been given the title 'Manager' as opposed to 'Head Coach'. So does that mean he can crack on with recruiting while the other lot play Pooh Sticks on the bridges over the river in their quest to name a DoF or HoR? You know, the fancy arsed names for what used to be called 'Chief Scout'.

I hope he does a better job than we think he might, given what else is going on at the club.

I'd really like to wake up on a Saturday morning and look forward to that drive up the M6 again for a change.
