League Two club Gillingham have signed Huddersfield Town winger Connor Mahoney on loan until the end of the season.

The 26-year-old has only made 10 appearances for the Terriers since joining the Championship club in July last year.

Before that he spent three years with Millwall, where he briefly played under Gills boss Neil Harris.

Mahoney scored five goals in 68 outings for the Lions and becomes Gillingham's eighth signing of the summer.

He could make his debut for the Kent club when the League Two leaders host Colchester United on Saturday (15:00 BST).

Gillingham goalkeeper Jake Turner has signed a new contract with the League Two club.

The 24-year-old has kept five clean sheets in eight games this season to help the Gills to the top of the table.

Former Bolton Wanderers and Newcastle United man Turner joined the Kent club in June last year.

"Since coming in 15 months ago he has developed not just as a goalkeeper but as a character in the changing room," boss Neil Harris told the club website.

"We feel that over the course of the coming season he will keep improving and grow with the team."

The Gills have not disclosed the length of his new deal at the Priestfield Stadium.

Gillingham have signed defender Remeao Hutton on a permanent deal from fellow League Two side Swindon Town.

The 25-year-old, who can play at full-back and wing-back, joined the Robins in the summer of 2022.

He went on to play 76 games for Swindon, including 29 during this campaign, scoring one goal.

Hutton's previous clubs include Barrow, Stevenage and Yeovil and he will be available for Gillingham's game against Forest Green Rovers this weekend.

League Two side Gillingham have signed Watford striker Jorge Cabezas Hurtado on loan until the end of the season.

The Kent club have also signed forward Josh Andrews on a permanent deal from Birmingham for an undisclosed fee.

The 22-year-old frontman scored six goals in 22 games on loan at Accrington in the first half of this season.

The duo join with Stephen Clemence's Gillingham 10th in the fourth tier, two points off the play-off spots, but with just 25 goals from 28 league games.

Andrews told the Gills website: "I am looking forward to getting started. You want to join a club with a plan, this club clearly has that and I'm on board."

Hurtado, a 20-year-old Colombian, had been on loan at New York Red Bulls, playing five games.

Last season, he spent time on loan in his home country with Independiente Medellin, making 10 appearances.

Earlier on deadline day, striker Macauley Bonne left the Gills to join League One Cambridge United on loan.

Midfielder George Lapslie and left-back Scott Malone have been put up for sale by League Two side Gillingham.

Lapslie, 26, joined the club from Mansfield Town in January 2023 and made 40 appearances this season, scoring three goals.

Malone, 33, has scored four goals in 48 games since moving from Millwall on a free transfer last summer.

Ashley Nadesan and Oli Hawkins have also been made available for moves by the Gills, while Shaun Williams and Macauley Bonne are among eight players let go.

Seven-goal top scorer Connor Mahoney has returned to his parent club Huddersfield Town, external after the completion of his loan in Kent.

The 27-year-old made 39 appearances for the Gills as they finished the season 12th in the table, six points off a play-off spot.

Goalkeeper Glenn Morris and 21-year-old midfielder Dom Jefferies have been offered new contracts at Priestfield Stadium.

Ike Orji, Matty Macarthur, Ronald Sithole, Josh Chambers, Kieron Agbebi and Nathan Harvey have all been released.

Josh Walker has returned to Burton Albion and Jorge Cabezas Hurtado to Watford after the completion of their loan deals.

Gillingham appointed former Cambridge United boss Mark Bonner as manager to replace head coach Stephen Clemence, who was sacked in April, earlier this month.

Goalkeeper Glenn Morris has signed a new one-year contract with Gillingham to stay at the club until the summer of 2025.

The 40-year-old has made almost 600 appearances across his career and featured 14 times in all competition for the Gills last season.

He joined the League Two side in July 2022, initially on loan, for his second spell with the club, having previously played at Priestfield between 2014-16.

"It was an easy decision for me and my family," Morris said.

illingham have signed free-agent midfielder Armani Little from League Two rivals AFC Wimbledon.

The 27-year-old turned down the offer of a new deal at the Dons, for whom he played 44 times this season.

The former Southampton youngster made his name during a three-year spell at Torquay United before joining Forest Green Rovers for an undisclosed fee in 2022.

He moved to Wimbledon on loan in January 2023 before making the move permanent last summer.

"Armani is an excellent addition to our midfield," Gillingham manager Mark Bonner told the club website., external

"He will give us good balance and handles the ball well with a good passing range.

"He has a character that everyone will warm to and will help us become the team we want to be."

Gillingham have signed winger Jack Nolan from Accrington Stanley for an undisclosed fee.

The 23-year-old made 80 appearances for Accrington after joining them in 2021 and last season scored 17 goals during their League Two campaign.

Nolan began his career in Reading's academy and also had a spell at Walsall.

"Jack joins following an excellent season and at an age and stage of his career where he has accumulated good experience but, vitally, has lots more to come," said Gillingham manager Mark Bonner.

"It’s his potential that excites me and gives us all a challenge to get the best out of him."

Gillingham have signed former Huddersfield Town winger Aaron Rowe on a permanent contract.

The 23-year-old spent last season on loan at Crewe Alexandra, where he made 47 appearances in all competitions and started in the League Two play-off final defeat to Crawley Town.

Rowe has spent his entire career with the Terriers and has also been on loan at Boston United, Bromley and Stockport County.

He was released by Huddersfield at the end of the season.

"I am buzzing, when I heard of the interest I was really excited," Rowe told the club website., external

"It's always good to have new challenges in your career. I am a tricky winger and I like to take on players. I like to take a lot of risks, I want to bring goals and assists."

Gillingham finished the season 12th in League Two.

Huddersfield clearly STILL do not know what they are doing, and even worse they have given ambitious Gillingham a player we will struggle against.

I don't understand the point of sending players out on loan and when they have done well at that level, deciding to let them go rather than finding out how they now fare with their own club.

Chesterfield have also done this with two players who did well on loan this time. The question is if you were convinced a year ago that you weren't going to renew their contracts, when didn't you go for a mutually-agreed release at the time?
