LAST MATCH

We went through to the next round of the cup with a 4-0 win. The game got off to an explosive start, Windass firing in from 20 yards after 2 mins. Then in the space of 5 mins, Cardiff were awarded 2 penalties, but Dawson came to the rescue saving both Thumb up Both teams were having chances but we effectively put the game to bed with 2 goals in 3 mins, Sawyers deflecting in a corner then Palmer doing his Paul Scholes impression with a cracking strike from 25 yards. Onto the 2nd half both teams had chances but Cardiff were just having on of those nights where nothing went in. We wrapped up the tie in injury time, Wilks finding the back of the net.

THE MATCH

Next up and the long journey south to take on the Saints. The Saints are having a good season and currently lie in 3rd place just 3 points behind Ipswich. They will be looking to go up via the automatic spots and with Ipswich wobbling a bit of late I would expect them to go up with Leicester. They are managed by Russell Martin, who took over in the summer and his first game was against and they won 2-1. There main threat is Adam Armstrong who has 13 goals and 9 assists this season, they also have Che Adams the former blunt who has 7.

Nothing great will ever be achieved without great men, and men are great only if they are determined to be so. For glory gives herself only to those who have always dreamed of her.

Southampton have a 100yr record they'd like to break by not losing to us apparently so their players should be up for it.

Hopefully, Rohl has spotted some weaknesses in their play we can exploit

Just a reminder if pieowl misses his predictions again this week ? Then he's in the muppet league jail for 3 games without being able to predict Wink

We've won at Southampton back in the early 90s I believe so how long is it ?

1997 the last time we won at there place .

And we've lost 5 on the trot these last year's

Last win was in Nov 1997 when they played at The Dell. Strange game that we won 3-2 with goals for Atherton, Collins and Di Canio. Their goals were scored by David Hirst and Carlton Palmer!!

We have never won at St Mary's having played there 7 times and got 2 draws in all competitions although our Cup game a couple of years ago ended 1-1 before we lost on pens.

I remember when they both signed for Southampton, it felt weird to see Hirst in red & white stripes
