Standings

The two draws were against Swansea (1-1) and Brum (0-0). The losses against Coventry (3-1), Leeds (1-0) and Blackburn (4-0).

Gareth Ainsworth is holding on as head coach and has been there since February. This isn't his first time there. He stood in as caretaker whilst still playing in 2008 and 2009. The rest of his managerial career being at Wycombe, of course, from 2012 to 2023. I wonder if this lot will keep faith for as long?  Huh Whistle He does have a three and half year contract so that's got to be worth something, hasn't it?  Rolleyes Doh

So what does head to head look like?

Most recently, we've had the better of them or, at least, got a draw. They haven't beaten us since 2021 at Loftus Road. We've a good record prior to that, too.

I've listened to the first three of Alan Johnson's autobiographies; he's one of my trade union and socialist heroes. Live with it. The chaffinch is not for turning. Although Alan wasn't born until 1950, he is a QPR fan and Dave Mangnall is mentioned for getting them promoted in 1948.

Do you have a favourite autobiography?
I have many. Alan's are up there.

Other famous fans
Another politician who says he is a fan is Michael Gove. Is that being a fan like he is a dancer? Least said, I think.
I know I've mentioned the singers before but there does seem to be a rock / punk vibe to their musician fans; Ian Gillan, Robert Smith, Mick Jones, and Glen Matlock.
Shane Richie and Martin Clunes from the world of entertainment and acting.
Louis Theroux, documentary maker and interviewer with a dry wit.
Alex Tudor from the cricket world.

Nice one, Chaffers. Thumb up

Now this IS a must win game. Even at this early stage of the season. The last two performances have been appalling and if that continues, there'll be a rumpus.

Proper football and a win, please Darren.

Not quite in the rock/punk genre, but Bill Bailey is a QPR supporter. One of my favourite comedians/musicians. And was QPR one of the artificial pitch pioneers?

Likewise I also think that this a must win game, QPR are relegation fodder as were Wednesday and if we fail to pick up 3 points then so are we

Yes they were ritchie, along with Luton and Oldham amongst others. Punts from the keepers could and did bounce out of the stadiums. Concrete bases with no sand underneath them. Oh how the National Sports Turf Research Association (or something like that) laughed when they all went back to grass. They had researched artificial turf pitches and had developed versions that played more like natural grass, but did anyone ever ask them?

They were great for local sports centres too, play more or less all year round for as long as the centre opened each day. Until you slipped and cracked your nut on the surface. Being a member of the goalkeepers union, as and when required, they didn't do you much good if you made a diving save either if you didn't break your dive properly. At best you winded yourelf, alternatively you were setting yourself up for a future hip or shoulder replacement. Or all four.

For some daft reason, normal emails are appearing in my Spam folder (there were 5 in there from this site alone the other day) and Spam is turning up in my Inbox. Yahoo mail eh? Despite blocking senders and setting filters on partial domain names, it still gets through.

Spaaaammm ! Wonderful Spam!

Memories of Spam Fritters, Chips and Beanz for school dinners still haunt me after all these years. More grease and oil on the plate than you needed to lube a school bus with. There was no such thing as a veggy option back then. Well, there was, scrape the fritters onto your mates plates that loved them, who were probably related to the lad you work with Snoots.
