Haven't heard of him before (no surprise there tho) but seems like he may be a real asset.
Very good pedigree Thumb up

Highly rated at BHA but apparently injury prone.

Run a few fact checks.
Age 21
Total minutes played in PL 214
Number of goals scored 0 (zero)
Let's give the lad a chance by all means.
My expectations are as high as his goals tally.

More importantly
Where is our centre forward !

I always find the statement 'highly rated' a bit strange, if I highly rate one of our players I would want them staying here, playing week in week out, otherwise they are just a promising prospect.
I did watch some video of this kid and hope it was just poor video selection, all 43 seconds of his 'best of' reel or IMO, he is not as good as Grady or Phillips. My concern is we now let Grady go then come next season even if this kids is Ronaldo in carnet, he goes back to BHA and Phillips is another year older.

I'm happy with the loan signing of Sarmiento.

This is a player who was knocking on the door of a very decent Brighton team at 19 years old before injury halted his progress.

From what I've seen, he's fast, tricky and exciting to watch. And we need an attacking midfielder, after losing Grant and Rogic.

Of course, 14 games and 0 goals in the PL doesn't make great reading. But we need to remember that most of those 14 games were 5 and 10 minute cameos, as a youngster being introduced into senior football. He only started once last season and got an assist when Brighton beat Everton 4-1. He's also a full international in a very competitive Ecuador side.

His injury record is a bit of a concern, but let's face it, he would be in Brighton's first team picture if it wasn't for those injury setbacks. We have to take a risk in the position we're in.

We've been dreadful in the loan market since we were relegated, making desperation signings like Marc Albrighton. But this is an exciting deal IMO, similar to when we signed Barnes and Diangana.

Of course, we need more reinforcements. A striker is absolutely imperative. I'd also like to see a centre half and right back as a minimum.

But it's a good start and a player who will improve us if he can stay fit...

I appreciate technically a winger is an attacking midfielder, but I think many think of them in a different way and this guy is undoubtable a winger as opposed to an attacking midfielder Whistle

Keeping him fit as you point out will be the tricky bit, for those who have not checked over the past season he was out from the 23rd August until 27th September with his knee. Then the 13th November until 20th November with a muscle injury finishing up with being out from 31st March until 07th June with a foot injury.

The season before he missed a massive part of it (from December onwards I believe) with a hamstring injury he got on his debut, it was so bad it required surgery.

All that said if we can keep him fit he could prove very valuable.

We can put his fee towards our £25 million black hole. If we get a reported £3m only another £22m to find to break even. We might survive by selling another 4 or 5 players. Then comes next season no one left to sell. It doesn't look good.
How long will Carlos bang his head against a brick wall is the most important question at the moment.
