Gillingham have confirmed club captain Stuart O'Keefe has played his last game for the club.
The 32-year-old former Crystal Palace and Cardiff midfielder has been at Priestfield for the past four years, but has not started a match since February.
Manager Neil Harris still thinks he has got a future in the game.
"He's been a top captain and is still a top player," Harris told BBC Radio Kent.
After 112 appearances since 2019, O'Keefe will not travel to Monday's League Two game at Salford.
"He is going to leave us in the summer for pastures new," Harris added.
"He deserves a special mention, he's my club captain and he's been absolutely outstanding, but it's time for him to have a change.
"He held us together in the first half of the season, when times were tough, off the pitch too. Wherever he goes next year he'll be a credit to them.
"He's a great lad. The first person his new club will phone for a reference is me and he'll get a glowing reference because he's been a top captain and is still a top player."
Gills left-back David Tutonda and winger Alex MacDonald have been offered new contracts at Priestfield while Shaun Williams, Robbie McKenzie and Glenn Morris - voted player of the year - have already agreed new deals.

Gillingham have signed centre-back Conor Masterson on a permanent deal after his release by QPR.
The 24-year-old will join on a free transfer in July, having spent the second half of this season on loan at the Priestfield Stadium.
It was his second loan with the Gills and he has made a total of 38 appearances for the club.
Having begun his career at Liverpool's academy, he has also played for the Republic of Ireland's Under-21 side.
"I have really enjoyed my time at Gillingham during the last two loan spells so to come here permanently, I can't wait," Masterson told the club website.
Director of football Kenny Jackett added: "He has done very well in his loan spell this year in our resurgence during the back end of the season and everybody at the club is looking forward to working with him in 2023/24."

Gillingham have signed former Wales international Jonny Williams following his release by fellow League Two club Swindon Town.
The 29-year-old midfielder retired from international duty in March.
Williams joined Swindon in August 2021 and scored 10 goals in 39 appearances for the Robins last season.
He came through the youth ranks at Crystal Palace and has also had spells at Ipswich, Nottingham Forest, MK Dons, Sunderland, Charlton and Cardiff.
"I am really excited, this is a club with a lot of potential. I was born in Kent so I am delighted to be home," Williams said.
Gillingham boss Neil Harris added: "We have got an experienced player with a brilliant pedigree playing at the top end of international football, as well as understanding the lower leagues."
The club have not disclosed the length of his contract at Priestfield Stadium.

Gillingham have signed former Hull City, Rochdale and Stevenage left-back Max Clark on a free transfer.
The 27-year-old former England youth international left Stevenage after a season-long spell last month.
He made 47 appearances for Stevenage last season, scoring once, to help Boro win promotion from League Two.
"Max is, first and foremost, a promotion-winning player from last season which shows his pedigree and his calibre," said Gills boss Neil Harris.
"He is a player I have tried to sign in the past; I tried to take him to the Championship but he went abroad.
"He is a left-back who can defend but he has unbelievable quality on the football. He's a good character and comes highly recommended."

Gillingham have signed former Republic of Ireland Under-19 defender Shadrach Ogie for an undisclosed fee from League One side Leyton Orient.
The 21-year-old centre-back played 15 games last season as Orient won the League Two title to clinch promotion.
In total Ogie made 58 appearances for the east London club after making his debut as an 18-year-old in September 2019.
He is the fourth new arrival so far this summer ahead of the new campaign.
The Gills have brought in Conor Masterson, Jonny Williams and Max Clark ahead of their League Two season which starts at Stockport on 5 August.
Gills boss Neil Harris said of Ogie: "He's competitive, he's quick, aggressive, left footed. He complements our defensive players really well, he has a good passing range, so we are really pleased."
