You know I'm not bothered if we go up to Prem, just as long as we have enough dosh to keep the club alive and can buy suitable players.

Even if we did get up to Prem with our lot, what are the chanches of our winning more than we lost?  I suppose the money will come in handy before the chinesman borrows - theirs a laugh - to sub his other businesses.

Besides championship is more unpredictable so more enjoyable.

Anyone agree?

Baggiebob, I completely agree with you!

When we're in the Championship, I always want us to be promoted because that, for me, is the thrill of the chase, to be up there in the top two. However, I'd then love it if we could take the money and stay where we are. I hate the Premier League; we end up, like a number of other teams, as cannon fodder, a fulfiller of fixtures for the wealthier sides. With no investment, we would be guaranteed bottom three, most likely 20th. I get no pleasure from seeing my team consistently being beaten - why would I take delight in being able to watch Man City, Arsenal, Man Utd etc give us a pasting? I can watch them on MOTD if I want, I don't have to rhapsodise over their talent as the 6th goal goes past Palmer.

Until we get an owner/owners who are genuinely interested in the club and are prepared to invest, then promotion is largely pointless, except for the fact that we'd get to write of our debt with the Sky money that goes with the PL. My concern is that Corberan sees the Leeds job as more attractive than ours because their American owners are prepared to invest and give the team a fighting chance; it would not surprise me in the least if he left to go there.

Only good news is he signed a new longer contract, so when he does go we will get more compensation to fund the Chinese economy with.
People are in sport for success and money, we can offer neither of these, Leeds are a better prospect on both counts, If Leeds are serious then I would be very surprised if he is still with us come August.
But at least big Sam would be available Whistle Whistle Whistle Whistle

Great, just read Carlos has a release clause, there goes the money to fund the Chinese economy.
