To be honest every time they attack the defence look scared, some powerful attackers in that Watford team

Townsend at fault again for the third goal, surely his job as a full back is to stop the wide man wandering into the box to have a free pop at goal!!! Still the head coach must see something in him.

God, we're our own worst enemies. Had Watford totally on the ropes at times tonight, but three utterly avoidable goals finished us.

Tale of two halves really...

First half we were largely dreadful, the first 5 minutes excluded. Lacked energy. Didn't get any bodies forward. Looked like we were scared out of our wits to commit.

Second half was the total opposite. Loads of attacking intent and if anything, over committed going for the win. I thought we looked as dangerous going forward as we have in any game this season. Grady looked good when he came on. Swift was as good as I've seen him. Dike came on and looked like a player again, winning everything in their air, bringing people into play.

Unfortunately, all 3 goals that we gave Watford were gifts. IMO both Mulumby and Pieters should've sorted their feet for the 2nd and 3rd goal respectively. The first goal I'd have to see a replay, but it looked like an easy take for Griffiths and I think he lost his head parrying the shot, expecting that he'd have to make a tougher save.

And ultimately if you give sides 3 goals, what chance have you got...

But if we're able to play with the attacking intent that we had in the 2nd half, I think we'll make the playoffs.

If we play how we play first half, we'll struggle to win another game.

Time will tell...

I have serious questions about several of our players.
Dike - our expectations have been dampened, he is young but on his last 5 games he shouldn't be playing.
Diangana - his time is up, after a promising start after he joined us, basically he has gone backwards another who is no longer worthy.
BTA - he has become a headless chicken. Running around but actually contributing not a lot.
Both our new signings have done nothing but disrupt the rest of the team - bench for them at best.
Molumby needs to start, TGH and Grant need to be back in favour.
People may not like Grant. I don't care as long as he scores goals - on the left please
Wallace needs to get back on the right - no more in the middle thank you.

Some things I agree with others I do not, which is why forums are fun:

Dike has not been the same since he came back from injury, but there is still hope.
Diangana one we disagree on, his problem is a he is a confidence player, one of the few good things Bruce did was to show he still had the ability. Diangana is an old fashioned left winger, so play him that way and you'll get the best out of him, considerably better than your lad Grant on the left wing.
BTA like Dike can only perform, if they get the service, we play one up front and if that one is back in their own half defending its always going to be a problem, TP ball showed us that.
Molumby has all the heart in the world, sadly to much and that makes him a liability. Some might say he was responsible for the Blackburn's equaliser or even the winner on Monday.
I don't know why TGH is not included more, there must be a reason. Grant I never can tell whether he is on the pitch or not Wink
Wallace, totally agree he needs to be on the right like Diangana does on the left, him and one your favourites, Furlong Whistle were building a great partnership, before for some reason unknown to me it all got changed.
As for our two new boys could not agree more.

I echo Salop's thoughts that football is all about opinions and there is no right or wrong...

Personally, I think Corberan is getting his selections right for the best part. Yes, we can have a knee jerk reaction to the last few games and start changing everything, but to be honest with the exception of the Blues game and Bristol City game in the cup (where Corberan did play some second string players, including Karlan Grant) we haven't actually been that bad. Even in the Blues game, both goals conceded were basic errors from the goalkeeper.

I think it's a bit early to write off Dike and the loanees...

Chalobah has played about 3 halves of football since he joined and we have to remember he hadn't played for a few months before joining, so will need time to get fit. The only real dreadful recent performance, against Blues, he didn't start. Mulumby started that one.

As for Albrighton, I said when we signed him that I had no idea where he would fit in and think it was just a case of getting someone who was available tbh. With Phillips injured, we just needed another bod and got whoever we could. He's a local lad, so was probably easy to get over the line.

Dike hasn't looked fit enough when starting games and has been disappointing, but we need to remember he's a big lad who has had some serious muscle injuries. At times from the bench, he's looked good though. Even on Monday, I thought he looked strong, won everything in the air, showed some nice touches. Against Sunderland he changed the game. We just need to keep easing him back in and hopefully he will keep getting fitter and start to show promise when starting games.

As for Grant, personally I'm chuffed he doesn't seem to be in Corberan's plans. I just think whenever he starts, he has a massive negative effect on the quality of our football.

He's started 4 games under Corberan and the results speak for themsleves...

Sheffield United - Lost 2-0
Blackpool - Won 1-0
Chesterfield - Drew 3-3
Bristol City - Lost 3-0

In the only game that we won when he started - against Blackpool - we scored after he was subbed off.

He started the majority of games under Bruce and we know how that went...

I do agree that TGH should be in the squad though. I'd prefer him over Reach any day of the week. That said, Corberan obviously doesn't think he's good enough and sadly, I'm not sure we've seen anything this season to suggest Corberan is wrong. I suspect he might be like many of our other young player who look promising when they breakthrough and sadly tail off. Hope I'm wrong, but I do get the vibe Carlos knows what he's doing by how much he's got out of this severely limited squad since he arrived.

I'm not an admirer of Grant by the way But he has more goals for WBA then
Dike - Diangana - BTA put together.
Like him or loath him he scores goals on a regular basis given the chance. The others just won't.
