I’d take Foster back at the drop of a hat if he’s still a free agent

It was a bad day at the office and probably a realistic reflection of where we're at, with some players who have played above their level since Corberan came in, dropping to their norm.

That said, we could've come away with a point had it not been for the goalkeeping...

Which you'd take on an off day...

The goalkeeping was just laughable though. For me, steady eddy old boy goalkeepers are ten a penny, so really not sure how we've managed to get someone as bad as Button...

I'm not sure what we do next, do we give Griffiths a go or try to go in for Foster? I think persisting with Button will definitely cost us any chance of a playoff spot though.

The only player to really come out of the game with any credit was Thomas Asante who really tried to change the game when he came on. Has to start the next one, possibly in place of Grady who sadly, remains toothless.

I also don't like Wallace in the hole and much prefer him out wide. I'd like to see Swift return with Rogic as an option from the bench. I know Rogic has been poor when starting, but when he comes on he seems to be able to influence the game more. I think he's too good a player to miss out completely.

Is CC going to stamp his authority on the team.
Button, Grady & Dike out.
AST, Swift, & Griffiths in.
Stop the rot before it starts again.

The nature of Blackburn's equaliser was what really annoyed me because at that point, we looked in complete control.

Hospital ball by Mulumby to Furlong, who should've cleaned their guy out but was too weak in the tackle. After that, we were in the sh*t and Swift lost his head and committed the foul.

Then the free kick itself... Well, Griffiths' should've threw his cap on that...

But ultimately, it is where we're at with the squad we have. We don't have a proven goalkeeper at the club. We have spent far too much money on dross players that can't play, such as Mulumby, who for all his running and work rate, cancelled out his own goal by not being able to pass a simple ball.

Going forward we don't quite have the balance. Swift always seems too far away from the striker and we don't ever seem to be able to find him in the hole to play through a team. He's clearly a talented player on the ball, but something isn't quite right there. I'm not sure if it's his lack of off the ball movement or positioning, but he rarely seems to find a position to hurt teams from open play.

It's a far cry from when Matheus Pereira played that role in the Championship under Bilic and he was always drifting into good positions between the lines to get at teams. That helped to bring the best out of Grady and ball playing midfielders like Sawyers in championship, and Yokuslu in the Prem season. When Yokuslu has it now, you see him looking for balls between the lines, but we don't have anyone making those movements...

Whatever happens this season, Corberan has done an excellent job with the tools at his disposal.

We're still a better side than some in and around the playoff picture, namely Millwall, Luton and Sunderland. However, our lack of fundamentals, such as a decent goalkeeper might see us miss out. But even if we make it, we have to be realistic and say this side is some way short of our promotion teams of the past.
