Absolute disgraceful decision from both clubs to move a game at this short notice. Some poor sods out there will have booked non refundable train tickets and given the location and KO probably a non refundable hotel for the night and they've just been screwed over by their own club.
Factor in they probably lost out on train tickets the first time this game was meant to be played as well.
Just another nail in the coffin that Clubs don't care about it's supporters.

I'm in the fortunate position of having a ticket but not having booked train tickets yet. I was likely going to drive and park nearby but now, as long as it's not another strike day, I can have a pub crawl and take my time coming back. Otherwise for supporters of both sides with far longer journeys than me, I agree with Wakey.

Well how about blaming the train companies instead? What in the name of sanity are "non refundable train tickets"? What happened to turning up at a station, paying a reasonable price to travel to any destination in the country?
The railways are a joke in this country. The sooner they get nationalised, the better.
Thatcher's Britain!
When I was a lad, you could get special trains to football matches. The railways were run for the people, not for corporate greed.
Anyway, Bristol City has been rearranged. Tuesday 7 March.

Er, they are "nationalised" to all intents and purposes - all the ticket money goes to the Government, they pay the clowns that run the franchises on their behalf cost +10%. There's no incentive for them to actually run a train anymore, hence Avant-a-clue-i don't. The fewer trains that run, the fewer passengers that travel, the less money goes to Government. Meanwhile we subsidise just about every national rail company in Europe as they own all our "franchises" or significant chunks of them between them. What was that about taking back control again?

Sorry M'Lord but the blame on this lies with the Football clubs.
They have decided to move it to Saturday at such short notice to try and earn a bigger pot, If Sky Tv had pulled this stunt at such short notice the Football world would be up in arms about it.
Remember this game was already postponed once at short notice and so some people will now have lost out twice on Rail tickets, some may even be supporters flying in from overseas, Ireland for example to watch either team(I know it does happen).
It's a minority I except that, but they have screwed the minority over.
Now the first time it happened CCFC were ordered to pay Compensation to HTFC, I would like to see both clubs offer compensation to those out of pocket with proof of Train/Flight and Hotel bookings
P.S. LNER for example are government run, they just never bothered to change the name

Another game moved. His Royal Wing Nut has decided he wants us all to watch him wipe his arse on his ascension from the throne on 6th May, so now we have to play our final game on Bank Holiday Monday 8th May. Why can't he wipe his arse on Bank Holiday Monday? Not that he wipes his own arse anyway, I mean, he doesn't even squeeze his own toothpaste tube.

As you and I were saying, the trains and football are pissed about with and to hell with the paying customer/supporter
https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2023...s-loophole
It's a good job I don't fly much so airlines can rip me off with charges for putting a bag in the hold, paying for a seat (that I thought actually came with the ticket, maybe I'll stand next time) and serving up food that is so crap, a curled up cheese and tomato sandwich and a bag of crisps from WH Smiths looks positively nutritious.
Whatever happened to those £30 (or less) off peak 1st Class Virgin fares to London that gave you food, drink and a decent seat? Oh, yeah, I mentioned all that above. You can now pay over £160+ and the rest to stand all the way and bring your own food, both ways, assuming you can consume it. Hell, it's starting to sound like air travel. They'll charge you next to reserve a seat someone else can sit in on your behalf, let alone bring some luggage with you. What do you mean you've got a bike? If you've got a bike, why do you need a train? It's only 3 days to Birmingham up the canal tow paths. You lazy bastard. Don't you realise how many passengers we can hang in the bike racks?

Talking of Flights. I booked some yesterday for Englands last game in Skopje. Didn't book the economy light as we will have luggage so the next pricing point up. Went through the whole process and then it wanted to charge me to pick my seats...£16ea. Now we're going via Istanbul both ways and it's me and Mitzi so thats £16 x 4 x 2=£128 on top of what we were already paying. We passed on the seats and will take our chances at the airport

I know, a so called £400 flight to Canada I was looking at was the thick end of £600 by the time they'd done for a plane that had about 20 pre-booked seats at the time out of the thick end of 200 available in baggage class.
You have to wonder where on earth they get their news items from sometimes? - Wakey doesn't even get a credit. The Barstewards.
