Zinman          10pts 2CS 4CR -3GB 3BB 0SB
Minizin              8pts 0CS 3CR 0GB 3BB 1SB
Snooty              6pts 2CS 4CR -3GB -3BB 0SB
Stairs                4pts 0CS 3CR 0GB -3BB 1SB
Derby                0pts 0CS 3CR -3GB -3BB 0SB
Sanjay              -1pt 1CS 1CR -3GB -3BB 1SB
Blue Baggie      -2pts 0CS 2CR -3GB -3BB 0SB
SCO                  -5pts 0CS 0CR -3GB -3BB 1SB

I think it's a fair comment to say that the Premiership participants are staggering towards the much needed World Cup break after the 2nd worst performance of the season with just 20 points amassed in total. I'm not sure what the problem was personally, apart from a gamball result that nobody predicted and only 2 correct bonuses.

Zinman was responsible for half this week's total points tally as he scrambled to double figures thanks to a week's high of both correct scores and results. His failure on the gamball was offset by the bonus and sees him sit on top of the table. Keeping it in the family, Minizin sits 2nd, not a great week for him but the choice not to gamble proved to be a wise one. Snooty matched Zin's number of scores and results but missed on all of his balls while Stairs was the only other player to make a positive contribution, again grateful for avoiding the gamball.

Derby's recent good run came to a halt as he failed to trouble the scorers - but still managed 5th place - another player to miss on all his balls. Sanjay only got one result correct but managed to double up his points with a correct score but it wasn't enough to keep him above zero. Blue's nightmare continued with his 3rd negative score in the last 4 weeks, just 2 correct scores and nothing on his balls. And then there was SCO, saved from a complete wipe out by his successful scoreball in an otherwise miserable week!

Derby 108
Minizin 98
Snooty 97
Zinman 93
Sanjay 80
Stairs 78
SCO 76
Blue 43

Not a lot of the change in the overall table with Derby maintaining his lead though it's now down to just 10 points. Minizin moves back above Snooty with Zinman making up ground in 4th. Sanjay, Stairs and SCO are separated by just 4 points while Blue remains some way adrift at the foot of the table.

Championship

Lady Jane 7pts 0CS 4CR -3GB 3BB 1SB
Dingle 6pts 0CS 3CR 5GB -3BB 0SB
BaggieOne 5pts 0CS 2CR 5GB -3BB 1SB
BBB 5pts 2CS 1CR -3GB -3BB 1SB
Amelia 4pts 0CS 2CR 5GB -3BB 0SB
Twerton 2pts 1CS 2CR -3GB -3BB 0SB
AAA 0pts 0CS 1CR NPGB -3BB 1SB
Themaclad -1pts 0CS 2CR -3GB -3BB 1SB

It's only fitting that in a week when I am so late posting this, its a week that everyone will want to forget anyway!!  A season's low total of just 28 points was scored in the Championship!!!  Lady Jane managed a barely respectable 7 points in first place, at least she managed to score positive points on 4 games!!  Dingle is 2nd with 6 points, he was one of 3 players to get a CR on the Gamball.  BaggieOne and BBB each got 5 points, B1 got his from the Gamball and BBB managed 2 CSs but missed on all his balls!!

Amelai ended with 4 points, this despite getting 5 points on the Gamball and bugger all else!!  Twerton of course missed on the Gamball and Bonus but just scraped enough other pont to end with 2 in the end.  AAA didn't play the Gamball and it saved him from a negative score instead of just a paltry zero.  Themaclad had a MacMare this week and ended on -1.

144 Dingle
119 BaggieOne
109 Lady Jane
94 BBB
91 Themaclad
84 AAA
69 Amelia
53 Twerton

Not much change here of course with such low scores.  The one positional change sees BBB overtake Themaclad and move into 4th spot.

Cheers

You say:  Not much change here of course with such low scores.  The one positional change sees BBB overtake Themaclad and move into 4th spot.

Well it has taken SEVEN weeks to move from number Five to Four, frustrating.

This week going back:  +3 -3 -9 -8 -6 -0 -4pts.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Not having much to do sitting in my bed, i wondered where the points were being scored re gameball and bonus ball & Correct scores, and this is what i came up with (though no doubt the mamagement have them also but aren't displaying)

So correct gameball score first - then gameball result - then bonus ball correct result - then games with correct score in points.
PREM
Derby 108pts   -  is 3/3/1  = 51pts  add 24pts for correct score results  = 75pts from his 108pts
Minizin    98pts    -     1/1/1  = 21        add 40pts                                       = 61                     98
Sco        97pts    -     0-2-1  = 16        add 32pts                                       = 48                     97
Zinmin   93pts    -     0-2-2  = 22        add 28pts                                       = 50                     93
Sanjay   80pts    -     1-1-2  = 27       add 32pts                                        = 59                     80
Stairs     78pts    -     0-0-1  = 6         add 44pts                            = 50                     78
Snooty  76pts    -     1-1-0  = 15       add  22pts                                       = 27                     76
Blue       43pts    -     0-0-2  = 12       add 12pts                                        = 24                     43

So Derby is the best of predicting for the big points and third worst for open play on other games. Whereas Stairs is worse for the big points and best in correct scoring on other games !!
==================================================
CHAMPIONSHIP
DINGLE   144pts  -   2-2-0  = 30pts   add 32pts                                      = 62 pts from his 144pts
Baggie 1    119pts   -    1-4-1  = 36pts   add 32pts                                      = 64 pts                  119
L/Jane       109pts   -    1-4-2  = 42pts   add 26pts                                      = 68 pts                  109
BBB             94pts   -    0-2-1  = 22pts   add 44pts                                    = 66pts                     94
Them          91pts   -    4-2-0  = 50pts  add  8pts                                       = 58pts                     91
AAA             84pts  -     1-0-2  = 22pts   add 28pts                                      = 50pts                     84
Amelia         69pts   -    1-2-0  = 20pts   add  24pts                                      = 44pts                    69
Twerton       53pts  -    1-0-1  = 16pts   add  40pts                                      = 46pts                    53

So THEM is the best of predicting for the big points and worst for open play on other games. Whereas Twerton is worse for the big points and 2nd best in correct scoring on other games !!

So interesting stats in there, and more than I keep track of. Some don't tally with mine quite and you have me and Snooty mixed up in the PL scores, for full disclosure and much to my own disdain I am nowhere near 3rd spot and nowhere near 100 points!!!

It's true what you say, however you know me, I don't get everything always right, but at least try to put some life into this interesting game of cat n mouse.

We did have a grid that gave these stats, but that has got been got rid of. ???

Still you at least gave your opinion which is 100% more than others have done - can't be fussed i suppose. Big Grin

BaggiesBob - what would interest me (If I could be bothered) would be what would have happened this season and last season f I had played the gameball on all my predictions.

My theory in NOT playing it is that I would be significantly worse off.

How am I supposed to know? Silly question.
I'm happy you made a decision - as apposed to what would interest me if I could be bothered - was no one told you what to do, though i suspect you'd be worse off.

And its BaggieBob.

Lighten up, we are on the same side.

I track that stat for the Championship but not sure if Zin does for the PL. For reference, AAA has played the Gamball the least in the Championship and has scored 10 points in total, this would have been 16 points if he had played the Gamball each week.

Ok, just done a quick analysis of your Gamball shyness Stairs.

So far we have played 13 weeks, you have not played the Gamball at all and that has so far netted you +27 points!

Basically you are really consistently crap at predicting the Gamball game, so far you have been wrong on 11 out of 13 weeks, with the other two being correct results. But getting it wrong and not playing it has saved you 3 points on 11 occasions, and where you got 2 points for a correct result you missed out on the extra 3 points you would have got if you had played the Gamball.

For what it's worth, I don't keep this information but, if I get bored at work this week, I might go back and take a look. I do know the impact on those that play the gamball every week and the numbers don't look pretty.

A couple of years ago I did look at the likely impact of playing/not playing the gamball based on an equal probability of each game being a home win/away win/draw - in other words the gamball being an absolute random guess. At that time it was pretty obvious that the best policy was not to play it but after that we have adjusted the points allocation so it's no longer so skewed. In fact, given the considerable ability of our participants to correctly predict results, I would now expect the gamball to provide a positive impact.

Or, looking at the season so far, I could be wrong about the ability part.
They say that ignorance is bliss - no wonder so many people are happy.

I am crap at most things and so I have always suspected playing the Gameball would be a big mistake.

So pleased to see that the facts back it up.

Thank you Big Grin

So why not, as I've previously suggested, making Gameball compulsary and bonus ball optional.

Or to really put the cat among the pidgeons, make them both compulsary Whistle With both -3pts and +5pts for correct result and forget 10pts, cos if you get it wrong - as i do - many times - 13pts on one game is too much to make up when my average weekly score is 9pts.
