That has to be it for Bruce, surely.

We did have a decent go for 20 minutes, but I do hope that doesn't save him. Surely we can't play the "unlucky" card again.

There was just no strategy to break Preston down. They were eating up everything in the air and we persisted with hoofball and crosses. Every time we had a corner or set piece, you just knew it was going to be collected by their keeper or gobbled up by the defence. Yet we persisted with just slinging the ball in, over and over again.

I just feel like we've got a team of individuals this season. Fair enough, we haven't had any transfer funds but we're paying big money for the likes of Rogic, Swift and Wallace. But clearly there was no thought about how to mould these into a team. Wallace would've really complimented Andy Carroll, but Bruce made the decision that the latter was surplus to requirements.

Yet he endorsed paying big wages for Rogic and Swift, 2 players who play in exactly the same role, while we don't have a proper centre forward at the club...

We've lost to a dreadful side tonight, but a side with a game plan. Something we clearly lack.

As others have pointed out, we have some real dreadful players at the club as a result of terrible acquisition (Grant, Townsend, Mulumby) or the aging process (Phillips). But Bruce does have alternatives and decides to pick them. The decision to pick Grant tonight, after what happened at the weekend, was ridiculous. Asante doesn't look like a forward, but at least he can put his foot on the ball. Grant up top is like playing with 10 men...

Just give us a manager who can pick the best XI and motivate the lads. Season is gone. But lets try and stay in this division at least.

He has to go now, he’s demonstrated his complete inability to manage or motivate this team. My concern is who is the replacement; our track record of appointments is absolutely atrocious, I have no faith Gourlay has a clue what he’s doing. Apparently Roy Keane was watching tonight…spare me! These are the sort of totally crap appointments that we make. If we offer Keane the job, let’s just pack up

Bruce should of his own volition resign even to save face. Lai would understand that, and he should as well. Angry

As I've said on a couple of occassions, Bruce has lost the dressing room, and if you have that, the players are not playing for him even though we mostly have most possession in most games.

JUST GO, retire, and enjoy your life playing scrabble.

Truth of the matter, we have had a terrible season so far, some bad luck, some pub league defending, management team - headless chickens to go. New shirt sponsors - easy meat.

It is a dire situation but Florist had a bad start last season, can I ask where are they now. We, despite having more possession, more shots ,more chances in most games contrive to throw victories away, are only 14 points of top spot.

Get a manager in who can organise, motivate and plan football teams ready for and during matches, have multiple plans and make real team decisions during games our season may not be over. Put together a run of wins, other teams will have dips and we could still be in the mix come may.

Stick and next season I can walk to our away league match at Montgomery Meadows (league one Shrewsbury Town for anybody unsure).

Not sure if I want to go up with this ownership and board, we could make Bournemouths's 9-0 defeat look like a close game.  Angry  Thumb down  Angry  Thumb down

Danny Wright- Mirror via Newsnow.

"Bruce’s management has been terrible from the get-go and Ron Gourlay needs to act as soon as possible to remove the 61-year-old from his position.

Hopefully that’s already the case and he was dropped off in Cheshire on the way back from Preston on Wednesday night."

That would have been nice.

Surely he can not still be in charge by the end of the day.
This is the our joint worse start to a second tier campaign in our history, we have had a few worst in the top flight but most have ended in relegation.
Worse news? They are considering Roy Keane as a replacement, watch the red card count fly.

He won't, I know he won't, you know he won't and he knows he won't.

He will hang on to get his pieces of eight. He has failed miserably over and over again why would our board have thought he could have done anything different or better with us.

Many managers have made a nice nest egg out of failing, hanging on for their compensation.
Victims of crime get less compensation than football managers.
