Genuine question and this is not me going on a witch hunt but given DS was sacked after just 9 games how long do we give the new manager(sorry coach) to turn things around?

The same 9 games would take him to Blackburn on 5th November, but given Danny had a pre-season(if you can really call it one as it seemed late coming back and condensed into a small time frame meaning playing 2 a day with mixed teams) that would be an extra 5 games so that would take him to PNE on Boxing Day.

I really, really hope that Hoyle and Bromby have got this decision right otherwise we could be stuck behind the black ball needing snookers to get out of the mire

In simple terms ..
- he improves the fitness so we can do what we did v Cardiff for the first 20-25 minutes to well over 60 minutes (not necessarily the first 60)
- he doesn't immediately impose an all new system the players don't understand (DS's wasn't that much of a change but it was enough for most of the players to not understand it or have confidence in it) and the players know and accept their jobs when in and out of possession
- he organises the defence so we stop conceding sloppy goals at the back (there was less playing out from the back v Cardiff so we didn't invite them on as much as we'd done other teams this season though we still gave them the odd sniff or two).
- he gets us out of the bottom 3 as early as possible - the longer he keeps us out the more time he buys for himself.

We're only 6 points behind 12th placed Wigan, who would only be on 10 points with us had we won .... (if's, but's and maybe's, but it didn't happen).
9 or 10 games in and there's only 5 points between the top 6 and the trap door.
4 wins from 7 in October should see us in mid-table at least.
6 defeats and we might want to start checking Google Maps for directions to Accrington, Port Vale, Lincoln and Shrewsbury for next year and we might be doing a Watford and looking for the next best coach since sliced bread to come out of Germany, Spain, Rutland, Andorra or Timbuktu all over again during the World Cup Break.

He'll be gone by Christmas if we're still in the bottom three. He's come on his own, so would be easy enough to pay off.

If he does go, then Bromby has to go as well.

But we're not going to be in the bottom three. Top 6 by Christmas. Just you wait and see. This is a great squad of players who just need pointing in the right direction.

Could be by the end of October if we stop giving away silly goals and score a few

I see Town have posted a vid of his "first training session". Was that today, yesterday or last weekend? I think we should be told.

It was Tuesday. Somebody filmed it through the fence at KFC and posted it on the social media, so the club had to put the vid up. Probably would've waited til today and pretended it was this morning.

At least it shows he's keen to get going.

Top window breaking rather than top bombing that one Laugh

John Smiths ranks way up there alongside Bud and Coors Light in my world.
