Nice of you to declare after four. Blush

And we haven't gone out to lower league opposition, which makes a pleasant change. Whistle

First goal is offside.

Second and third show what can be done with accurate passing and getting men in the box.

Fourth shows why you shouldn't pass straight to the opposition.  Whistle

I think it's obvious to everyone even though we are 3 games into the season that we are in for a real struggle this season.

I really feel for Danny Schofield because I think he's been thrown under the Bus by Hoyle and Bromby, having said that I've watched 70minutes of the Harrogate pre season game and all of the Burnley and Birmingham games and I still haven't worked out what the game plan is, we don't seem to have any direction.

Hoyle and Bromby have to shoulder the majority of the blame.

Six of starting XI in the Wembley final have either been sold, released or gone back to the parent club after a loan spell. Last season the first eleven was ok but the squad was lacking in quality, this season the first eleven are lacking quality and the squad is looking even weaker.

Plus the the manager/head coach walked out on the club stating he couldn't take the club any further or did he realise that last season was a fluke and he wouldn't be able to get a tune out of this lot with a depleted team/squad.

Bromby phoning down instructions and making threats about sending players out on loan during the first game sent alarm bells ringing in our group. It's like DS isn't ready for this or Bromby doesn't fully trust him.

I can't see anything other than another defeat this weekend and a bad start will see the crowd turn.

Dean will do what Dean always does, he will blame everyone else and not take any responsibility for any of the mistakes made on his watch. He's very good at manipulating the masses to get his way

I know a few at the club albeit in the lower levels of it, don't like bromby, they say he's smarmy and intrusive. Also been told that Clem the keeping coach is a nice guy overall, but won't hesitate to stab someone in the back for more power...keep watching him Ds.

Anyway seeing as yesterday was the first game I've been able to go to, here's my player rating.

Nicholls- 5. He's not hit the heights of last season, but last night he was not helped by a defence that felt like it parted quicker than the red sea with Moses...my Bible knowledge is a little lacking it could have been somewhere or someone else. Could he have done better on any of them? Meh wouldn't have mattered, but possibly yeah.

Spencer- 4. Baptism of fire for the kid, didn't look awful, but also didn't look ready for the championship. Heaven help him and us if he ends up against better wingers like sarr at Watford. Physically he's fine but technically and his reading of the game is still not there. Needs a loan.

Lees- 4. He's also struggled this season, being in a back 4 I don't this has helped him and I don't think covering everyone else in the back line does either. Yesterday he was covering Spencer and Boyle, which is impossible to do.

Boyle- 3. Looked every bit a league 1/2 defender. Slow, technically not great, but okay in the air. Cheap option when we should have stuck with naby.

Yuta- 4. Struggled at times with the physicality and pace of the game, but this is his first game since leaving Holland having not been able to play in preseason. Looks better than ruffells and at times looked to have good technique on the ball.

Camara- 5. Another young lad on debut and looked like there was definitely a good player in there and looked assured on the ball at times, might have been helped if he had Hogg alongside him rather than Russell. Probably one of the only bright spots of last night

Russell- 2. Looks completely out of sorts. Looks immobile and needing too much time on the ball, sometimes tries to make things too fancy ala bacuna, when his best moments last year came when he kept it simple. He's obviously missing the energy of O'Brien alongside him, but aren't we all. There's definitely a good midfielder in their, but we have to find the right partner(s) and system, atm he doesn't warrant a selection.

Holmes- 3. Looked to get frustrated and when he does he makes stupid and reckless fouls. He shouldn't be a starter and is probably a league one player, made the first real tackle of note from a town player and that was it really. He's not creative enough for me and his final ball is often lacking. Think he's an impact sub sort of player.

Koroma- 1. He gets that for turning up because he did sweet fa else. Passes when he should shoot, shoots when he should pass and can't cross, looks completely devoid of confidence when he's playing but still has that arrogance of look at me I'm a footballer, when he should really be figuring out what's gone wrong. One of the worst performances I've seen for a long while and I've seen diakhaby and half arsed mbenza.

Mahoney- 3. Some nice set piece deliveries and not a lot else really. Needed the game time so 80 mins will have done him good. There might be something there, well there must be for Blackburn and Bournemouth to have wanted him right? Think it's about unlocking it because he could be a very creative player, probably out on the left.

Rhodes- 5.5. Thought he was one of the better players on the pitch for town. Took both his chances well, only one stood. Had no service and won a few headers only for noone to be anywhere near him. At one point in the first half he ventured back to the edge of our area to defend because Holmes and koroma wasn't going to. Needs service and a partner and he'll score a handy amount of goals.

Subs

Rudoni- looked bright as a central midfielder but tried to be too intricate at times. Needs time to develop and adjust to the higher level, but there's a player there.

Anjorin- another bright display and seems like he's going to be one of the only players that create for us this season. You sense something could happen when he's on the ball.

Thomas- another who has had a bad start to the season and feels like he's lost that grounded attitude and is believing his own hype now. Set pieces were poor and his overall performance was too, ran into his man more than past him, which wasn't happening last season.

Edmonds green- wanted to carry the ball out of defence and help get the team going forward but I do feel he's needing a loan again, I don't think he's ready, but I do think there's potential there.

Jackson- pointless sub really and it should have been grant who came on instead. Don't think he did anything other than make a slide tackle when the ball and man weren't in the same postcode.

I'm hoping we see a far better performance on Saturday. Not that I'll be there, otherwise it's going to be very toxic already especially towards Mr Hoyle and bromby and I reckon we wouldn't be far off having a thread predicting who would be the next coach.

I know my candidates.

When players who played well throughout last season aren't performing you need to look at the people who "allowed" last season's manager to depart and at the hapless nice guy who has agreed to be thrown under the bus.

You went in with a team selection that suggested you had won your first two matches and were wary of a long Caribou trophy hunt across the winter tundra.

It seems harsh, but this is the time for supporters to cut up really rough. If you don't, you'll be at played 6, lost 5, one fortunate draw, and nothing much will have changed except that will have set your season in stone and relegation will be a promise, not a threat. Why? Because even if the men behind the scenes agree to change, the season will be at least a dozen games old before you start playing competitively, and that's too late.

My own team and many, many other lower league teams have ploughed this very furrow in exactly the same way. At the end of the season you look back and realise it was all over before a ball had even been kicked.

We've here before several times Devon and it's always been down to the Board and in particular the Chairlump making piss-poor decisions then being surprised by the outcome.

Nice to see we've got some new scapegoats now. Jon Russell taking over the "lazy" tag from Bacuna.
Danny Schofield being roundly written off by people supporting the Spanish prick who walked out on everybody.
Somebody today said that anybody with any ambition would've done the same.
Ambition? He's gone to Greece for goodness sake.
There's only one true scapegoat for me in all of this. Goes by the name of Carlos.

Think you might want to take a closer look at those responsible for selling and buying players and releasing others at the end of their contracts Snoots. You know, the one's that took all the plaudits for their brilliance last season after several seasons of dismal failure. Carlos had no say in this, could see what what coming and jumped ship before he got pushed out too. If you think Olympiacos is a step down from Town then that's up to you.

Yeah but. You don't jump ship, do you?

The bloke knew the score when he signed his lengthy contract. He'd obviously been tapped up in a similar way to the way Steve Cooper had been tapped up. The only thing Dean did wrong was not putting Carlos on gardening leave, like Swanse did with Cooper, so we could get compo for him.

As for Olympiakos. It's not the Premier League is it?
