MK Dons have signed striker Will Grigg on a permanent basis for the first time following two previous loan spells at the League One club.

The Northern Ireland international, 31, re-joins the Dons on a free transfer after leaving Sunderland at the end of last season.

Grigg scored 30 goals in 70 appearances for the Dons during his two temporary moves and is the club's 10th signing ahead of the new season.

"It's amazing to be here," Grigg said.

Grigg spent the first half of last season on loan with Rotherham, scoring twice in 19 league games as they ultimately went on to clinch promotion back to the Championship.

His form during a four-year spell at Wigan, where he helped the club win promotion to the second tier twice, earned him a £4m move to then-League One Sunderland in January 2019.

But after only eight goals in 62 appearances he returned to Stadium MK for the rest of the 2020-21 campaign, hitting eight goals in 20 games.

"I've had two great loans here but to finally make a permanent move is really exciting and I really appreciate everyone at the club who has worked hard to make this happen," Grigg, who has also played for Walsall and Brentford during his career, added.

"I had quite a few offers on the table but as soon as the interest came from here, it was something that appealed to me massively - this club has always had a place in my heart but it's not just about that, it's also where I think is best for me to score goals and be successful."

MK Dons have not disclosed the details of Grigg's contract.

MK Dons have signed former Blackburn Rovers midfielder Bradley Johnson.

The 35-year-old was released by Rovers earlier in the summer, having scored six goals in 86 games over three seasons with the Lancashire club.

He joined Blackburn in 2019 from Derby County, and previously played for Norwich City, Leeds United, Brighton and Northampton.

"Bradley brings a wealth of experience to a young group," MK Dons head coach Liam Manning told the club website.

"Most importantly, he still has plenty to offer on the pitch.

"He has been a part of several successful teams during his career and certainly knows what it takes to win and produce high-level performances on a consistent basis."

He spent three of his four seasons with Norwich in the Premier League before joining Derby for a then club-record fee in 2015 after helping the Canaries return to the top flight.

During his time at Leeds United, Johnson helped them to promotion from League One in 2010, having previously enjoyed League Two promotion success with Northampton Town in 2006.

MK Dons have signed full-back Henry Lawrence from Chelsea on a season-long loan deal.

The 20-year-old spent last season on loan at AFC Wimbledon, making 32 appearances in all competitions.

Lawrence is the 12th summer signing made by the Dons since their run to the League One play-offs in 2021-22.

"He is a young player with real quality, both athletically and in terms of his technical attributes," Dons head coach Liam Manning told the club site.

"He has also shown an ability to play in multiple different positions and that versatility will be key to both us and him this season."

The Dons start the new season away to Cambridge United on 30 July.

"This is a similar playing style to what I am used to and I saw that last season when I played against MK Dons," said England Under-20s international Lawrence.

"I am very excited to come into this team and show what I can do."

Milton Keynes Dons have signed 19-year-old defender Daniel Oyegoke on a season-long loan from Brentford.

The England youth international has yet to play a senior game since joining the Bees on a three-year deal last summer from Arsenal.

He was part of the England side that won the European Under-19 Championship earlier this month.

Oyegoke played 24 times for Brentford's B side in his first season at the newly-promoted Premier League club.

"Dan is a player we have spoken about a lot this off-season and Liam [Manning, MK Dons head coach] and I were impressed when we had the opportunity to speak with him about a potential move to MK Dons," sporting director Liam Sweeting told the MK Dons website.

"He has a great physical profile and a number of technical qualities which have resulted in some high quality moments for Brentford and with England.

"We are grateful to Brentford for allowing our coaching staff the opportunity to work with Daniel and I look forward to seeing the progress he can make over the course of the season."

MK Dons have signed Rotherham United forward Joshua Kayode on loan for the rest of the season.

The 22-year-old made 21 league appearances last season as The Millers won promotion to the Championship.

It is Kayode's fifth loan spell, having previously spent time at Chesterfield, Gateshead and twice at Carlisle.

"Josh is an exciting addition and his qualities, both physically and technically, will certainly add to the group," said head coach Liam Manning.

The Republic of Ireland Under-21 player is the 14th summer signing made by the Dons.

They are at home to Cheltenham Town in the Papa John's Trophy - which Kayode helped Rotherham win in April - on Tuesday, to be a followed by a trip to Exeter City in League One on Saturday.

"As soon as I spoke to the gaffer, it was a no-brainer for me that this was the right place for me to develop as a player and a person," said Kayode.

"The style of play is great and it's something I can see myself fitting into. I'm a hard-worker who likes to get in behind and run at players, and I'm good in the air too - hopefully I can bring all of that in to help the team."

MK Dons left-back Daniel Harvie has signed a new deal with the League One club.

The 24-year-old, who has played 86 games for the club since arriving from Ayr United in July 2020, already had a option triggered in his previous deal to remain at MK Dons until June 2023.

The length of his new contract has not been disclosed.

"He is an extremely important presence for us on the pitch but also off it," said sporting director Liam Sweeting.

"For me, this is as good as any new signing, because we see Danny as an important contributor for us in the short term but also the medium and long term as well."

Goalkeeper David Martin has made his return to MK Dons official, signing a player-coach contract.

The 36-year-old has been training with the club and coaching the keepers, with Lewis Price battling testicular cancer.

Martin has made 341 appearances for the club and was part of the Dons' inaugural squad in 2004-05.

Martin said: "It's brilliant being back. MK Dons is a massive part of my career. I've been here for years and we've gone through a lot together."

Only Dean Lewington has made more appearances for the club than Martin, who has kept 111 clean sheets.

Martin told the club website: "It's a unique situation, obviously in difficult circumstances. I still want to play but this is an opportunity for me to step in and help a club that means a lot to me. It's my responsibility to take care of the department and the other goalkeepers here but, at the same time, I want to stay competitive as a player within the group.

"Pricey has been unbelievable for me, which is testament to his character considering what he's going through. He cares so much about the club, the staff and the players here and he's been there to help me, just like we will all continue to be there for him."

Head coach Liam Manning added: "David is someone who knows the club inside and out and his experiences, both here and throughout his playing career, will be invaluable to the squad. He is also a fantastic character and brings some excellent qualities on and off the pitch."

Martin made his professional debut for Wimbledon at Burnley in April 2004, having joined after a youth spell at Tottenham the previous year.

He was signed by Liverpool in 2006 but did not make an appearance in four years at Anfield, though he did make 30 during a loan spell with Leicester City.

He returned to Stadium MK in 2010 and played 318 games in seven years, helping them secure promotion to the Championship in 2015, before spells with Millwall and boyhood club West Ham, whom he left in June after five appearances across the past three seasons.

MK Dons have signed striker Max Dean from Leeds United on a permanent deal.

The 18-year-old, whose length of deal and transfer fee have not been disclosed, left Elland Road without playing a first-team game for Leeds.

Dean regularly featured for Leeds' under-21 side, which included playing in the Papa Johns Trophy.

MK Dons boss Mark Jackson said Dean is a player with "huge potential" having previously worked with the teenager while on the coaching staff at Leeds.

MK Dons have signed Brentford midfielder Paris Maghoma on loan for the remainder of the season.

The 21-year-old had spent the first half of the season on loan at League Two side AFC Wimbledon.

He made 24 appearances before suffering an ankle injury, with his season-long deal then ended early on 5 January.

Maghoma, a former England Under-20 international, is yet to feature for the Bees' first-team having arrived from Tottenham in January 2020.

The midfielder said stepping up to join League One club MK Dons "was a no-brainer".

"There were a number of options for me but this was always the eye-catching one," he said.

"Taking this next step, I wanted to come to a club that plays this style of football and I also wanted to test myself at this level."

MK Dons have signed winger Sullay Kaikai on a deal to the end of the season following his departure from League One rivals Wycombe Wanderers.

The Sierra Leone international, 27, made 10 appearances this season for the Chairboys, who he joined in 2021.

He is the fourth Dons signing since the appointment of Mark Jackson as head coach, following Jonathan Leko, Max Dean and Paris Maghoma.

"This is a great club with a great style of play," Kaikai said.

"I want to get back to enjoying my football and I'm thankful that MK Dons have given me the opportunity to do that."

Kaikai began his career at Crystal Palace, appearing for them in the Premier League, and subsequently had spells with Dutch club NAC Breda and Blackpool before moving to Wycombe.

"He's a player who has been high on our priority list during this transfer window and we've done a lot of work on him," said Jackson.

"He's a player we believe can be a really good fit in what we want to do, in an out of possession, and he will bring real attacking impetus to our game."
