It was only the other day I was thinking if only we could sign an Albanian and a Brazilian, and as if by magic.
If Covolan can stop getting sent off he is quite a good keeper. Don't know much about Albania's U-21s.

Albanian with a Brazilian conjures up something I don't want to think about.
Squad taking shape nicely.
Photo's on the website show Carline back in training. Hope he returns in some form. One of Rowe's better signings and imo miles better than king with a long throw in his arsenal.

I like Carline. We missed him. His throw is useful. BUT he is nowhere near as good as King who is our best defensively-based player. Both of them are quite versatile. They could both feature in our best eleven. King, like Covolan, just needs to stop watching Nick Kyrgios.

Disagree re king dev. He's better going forward and doesn't know how to defend imo. Carline was more solid at the back and just had a knack of drifting in at the back post with goals time and time again.

King wants to win, he wants to get better, he tackles to get the ball and once he has it he wants to use it.
If King doesn't know how to defend it is strange he made the National League's team of the year when at Halifax as a defender.
Our defensive problems started with an ageing, regressing keeper and a lack of pace in central defence. They weren't helped by our midfield either.
I like both King and Carline. They would both be in my squad for every game for which they were fit, simply because they fill so many roles between them. I like players who catch on when we need someone to get into a space, make that tackle, nick an interception and don't hesitate thinking that it should be somebody else's job. AND both of them are capable of scoring or making a goal. I was, however, wrong to say Carline was nowhere near as good as King. He's good.

I notice Dagenham and Redbridge paid Weymouth a fee last week to grab midfielder Omar Mussa, who I've been advocating we should go for. The 21-year-old Belgian played his first friendly for them on Saturday and scored the only goal of the game.
Being wrong is normal, but it is really frustrating when it looks as though you might have been right and it does you no good. Indeed I reckon the addition of Mussa will turn the Daggers into promotion contenders and rivals.

Our squad as it stands is huge. Add to that the rumour mill says we will be signing Mullarky from Altrincham.
So far non out.
We beat Rochdale behind closed doors earlier, came back from 2-0 down to win 3-2. Mandeville and Assante on the score sheet.
I will see some of the new signings on Saturday at Matlock, quite looking forward to it.

Causeway Lane!!! Why haven't I got myself to move there - to higher ground there!?
I know we currently have a big squad, but we played half last season with far too small a squad. We can't let that happen again either. This is one of the reasons the players I recommend tend to be under 23 years of age and still developing.
I'd very much like Asante to stay IF he can again become the player he was.
I'm jealous of your Saturday. ENJOY IT MY FRIEND!!!!!!!!

I'm looking forward to the start of the season now. We've made a lot of very good signings and I think we will be up there again come the end of the season. Wrexham, Southend will also be challenging for the title this season, they've both made very good signings.
