I understand why Sawyers has his critics but I personally thought he was good the season we were promoted under Bilic for the best part.

He was key to us transitioning into a possession based side as he was always available and passes well. He's not just a keep ball merchant who plays predominantly square and backwards either (Molumby *cough*). He was usually the player finding the likes of Periera and Grady in the hole where they could damage the opposition.

No surprise that Grady has been far more ineffective this season when we didn't have a progessive ball player in the middle.

Granted he's one of the weakest players in the tackle that I've ever seen and that is very frustrating. In addition, he was far too slow for the Premier League and often got caught on the ball in dangerous positions while trying to overplay. But at this level I think he's decent and if he actually played next to a proper sitting midfield (in the Yokuslu mould) I think he'd still be a good player.

Rumours would let you to believe that we are endeavouring to sign Karl Darlow from Newcastle. Let's face it, we've only got four keepers in Button, Griffiths, Palmer and Cann, I can see why we would need another one. Let's face it, we're completely overrun with creative midfielders so we should definitely buy a fifth goalkeeper, just what we need....you can never have enough keepers, can you?

Steve Bruce, man of vision.

I think this reflects the usual stance that most new managers take - signing players they know. Understandable but the success depends upon the ability of the manager and what success he's had in managing them. The fact that Bruce seems to be interested in Karl Darlow and Ciaran Clark should tell us all we need to know...the incapable in pursuit of the underwhelming.

An then he got rid of Andy Carroll Whistle And will probably get rid of players better than who he brings in. We shall see?????
I personally can't see him having any impact on our team and that will leave us again next year in the Championship and looking for a new manager or whatever he is. Sick

Yep! I take this as a positive. There has to be better out there for going forward.

Although I’m not a massive Sawyers fan, I actually think this is a poor decision. I see him as substantially better than Molumby, whom we have signed, and Reach. I’m sure you’re right, Stairs, that there are better players out there but in the light of Bruce’s decision to dispense with Carroll and pursue the likes of Darlow, Ciaran Clark and Hourihane, I have no faith the past-it twat knows what he’s doing.
