A huge Hibs support will be heading towards Fir Park for this cup tie on Sunday with many fans wondering what Hibs can achieve even if they do "raise their game". I'd expect Shaun Maloney to deploy a hi-press strategy to take on the "steel men" and try to win this crucial match. However, he'll also be aware that we don't score goals in forward positions any more and that is a huge problem in any match, let alone an "all or nothing cup tie". Should he draft in young Josh O'Connor, Gaz's laddie? It's still prob too early in his development, but perhaps it's giving him the thrill of pulling on a 1st team strip in a big match like this one? He scores goals and scored a cracker v Rangers in his last youth match/cup tie. I also wish our long list of injuries would start to recede. We've been so unlucky re injuries and it is even more bizarre that a lotta these injuries apply to players who we signed in January. Anyway lets pray that Hibs play well in front of a vibrant away support and do the biz. C'mon Hibs, keep our footie season alive!

Gotta dwell on the positives TBH. We've been inundated with so much negative stuff covering the poor form of certain players and this never-ending saga of injuries. The positives are good to rejoice about.
One question I'd like to ask Shaun Maloney is, "Why did you play Scott Allan in this game when any savvy fan observing this game could see within 3-4 mins that he isn't match fit"? He almost "flogged" the 1-2 score line by needlessly losing possession, was nowhere near the pace of the game after he entered the fray from the subs' bench, and certainly not aware of mid threats around him. Not impressed Shaun!!

Very professional clinical play by Hibs in the first half, but it was a big mistake to allow Motherwell to come forward in the second. They had a few good chances and caused us problems, but we also had several chances. Melkerson and Jasper are great finds, so some new players are coming through big time.
Positive attitude and result and still plenty of room for improvement. Things are looking up.

Regardless of the early sending off i thought we played quite well 1st half. Jasper is clearly a cracking prospect and Melkerson is exactly what we needed, a more mobile forward who can stick them away. He isn't going to drop deep he is going to stay right up top an be a pest for CBs in this league. 2 great finishes today.
2nd half wasn't great, we gave the ball away too many times and after Hendo went off we seemed to decide to just ride it out. We had to change our shape about 3 times in the game which was a big factor in that though.
Collum was absolutely atrocious, why he didn't send off Roberts is anyones guess.
