Reading v Huddersfield Town

What song defines me? Loads.

Well I used to lead walks up in the Dales and off the Settle-Carlisle line and around Easter or in October we'd often get Four Seasons in One Day. I often think of the engineers Driving the Last Spike on that remarkable feat of Victorian Engineering.

I'll be honest after over 30 years down here in Muddled England it's still a wrench when I leave My Hometown, but at the time I said I Want to Break Free. Since I've Been Gone, Everyday you have to to Keep Yourself Alive. No Heroes ever sat at home living In Dreams. It's only Natural that As Tears Goes By you eventually have to Roll With It.

I will gladly admit that I Can't Dance and I would definitely avoid Dancing On a Volcano at all costs. Especially an active one.

I have to ask you all, When Love Bites, Have You Ever Needed Someone So Bad?
When someone puts an embarrassing Photograph of you on Soshal Meedja, can you or do you get over the Hysteria that follows?

My favourite colour is Blue & White Stripes, cemented during the Seasons in the Sun (sorry) that followed on from the the Summer of 69. However, for work I often have to be Back in Black (if you've ever worked with graphite you'd understand).

Town's win at Wemberlee v Reading Shook Me All Night Long, and for a while after to be honest. We'd long been told to Keep The Faith after many years of Always seeming to be Livin' on a Prayer. For many a year there was a Darkness on the Edge of Town, but eventually were were given A Reason to Believe. That L666s got left behind in a Time Warp at the Time just left me feeling even more Happy.

Now you Can't Always Get What You Want, and there may be some Mixed Emotions, but I'm Free, Town occasionally have Got Me Rocking and If I had them, then maybe Behind Blue Eyes I'd say All I Wanna do is Have Some Fun and It's Only Rock'n'Roll ..... and I like it, yes I do.

I was going to say mine is Go Your Own Way, Fleetwood Mac. Seems woefully inadequate now.

In my defence Theo, it was dark and we drove down. We parked in some independent 'car park' not sure if it was a sports venue or what, more like a field. The toilets in the maccies had blocked and were backing up, I remember that.
Another day, another door, another high, another low

I don't see the point of using a word or twowhen there's a page or screen available to fill AmChaff.

MickyD's toilets blocking up?

Funny but that used to happen in Canada when I used to take the girlfriend's kids for a chicken dippers thing and let them roll around in the ball pond or whatever it was, so I could then have an afternoon on the golf course.

Never worked out if it was the grease, the buns or the burgers jjamez. Shirley not a design fault in the bog drainage?

There's now a Tim Hortons (aka breakfast to go in Canada) in Wolvo but not been yet. Hell Wendy's will be coming back soon.

Best bit about Reading, It's got a decent train station and a decent pub just outside of it. Can't tell you much more than that.  It's easy to get the bus to the ground and back on matchday.

what song (rock or otherwise) sums you up?
I don't really have one, I've already got my tune for the Crem when the coffin disappears behind the curtain for the final time but that's a whole new subject.
Something to sum me up would probably be something by The Smiths even though I couldn't name one song by them, you know the type 'music to slash you wrists to'. Don't worry I'm not about to do that but even i know I'm a depressing type of character these days, must be getting old Sad

I whole heartedly agree about the station pub Wakey and like the two at Huddersfield you can no longer get in off the platform. I'd still argue it is within the original (as far as I know) station buildings. Thumb up

Mitzi - gi yer 'ubbys head a shake and a kiss on the for'ead for the rest of us. Please.

Levi Colwill doing ok but not for tomorrow. Duane Holmes unavailable. Danel Sinani should be starting or on the bench.

Well if we're doing Smiths songs, surely the one that sums up all our lives watching Town is Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now. Big Grin

Well I'm not

Well, what can a poor boy do
Except to sing for a rock 'n' roll band
'Cause in sleepy London town
There's just no place for a street fighting man
