Asking for a friend who isn't that good at forecasting. Whistle

Question AmChaff - The Aussie Tennis doesn't start until 17th Jan and it's an unknown (unless I missed it) if Djokovic (a known unknown) and maybe others (unknown unknowns) will be there for the men's/women's comps as it's a "proof of being vaccinated" or "exempt" event only.

There isn't (yet to my knowledge) another sports event with this ruling that I'm aware of. I appreciate you want to get this done asap but isn't the 9th being a bit previous when a reasonable guess could be ruled out for the first two competitions on the list when they can't provide a Covid Pass? I know they can all pull out right up to the start but if the draw is after the 9th, can that be the cut-off date?

It seems qualifying is 10th -14th so I would presume "The Draw" would be no later than the 14th as it starts on the 17th. If it's by or on the 9th I'll happily sit down and shut up but can't find the actual draw date (yet) on the tournament website.

Is it any different from forecasting who'll win what in December when we don't yet know who'll be there either?
Not much perhaps, but let's have a look at the runners and riders who will be in the first round of the first events as we can't change them afterwards?

Let's be honest, none of us got more than 3/28 last year, not a good look is it? Laugh

I expect you'll set up a similar 3 woman committee with your two schizophrenic sisters, similar to the one Snoots has to adjudicate his prediction leagues and come to a logical decision after a strong coffee or 5.

I'm not asking for changes before events/games per Snoots's prediction leagues. That would be absolute chaos. Chaos I tell you.

Hell that's a long post to ask you to maybe move the do by date back a week.

Yes, I agree we should be able to make changes. Just put it in an up-to-date post, please.

If we say, they pull out before the tournament starts, we can make changes... is that ok?

Was just asking for the Aussie Open to be honest as it's so close, but if you want to make it all of them I'm not arguing Thumb up

Has to be before an event kicks off though not before the final day/match. So F1 cut off is before the first (not the last) race as an example.
