I have to disagree, if the player has his hands on Molumby's shoulders when he s trying to get to the ball, that is a penalty, end of story whether he throws him to the ground or not.  That is the whole reason it all kicked off, lack of consistency in refereeing decisions, referees must either all give it as a penalty or none of them give it.  I must admit I do see more in it than you do  Big Grin  With the other red a lot of referees would have given a yellow for that as well, we need consistency.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it wasn't a penalty. I agree putting your hands up should be a foul.

However, there was excessive pushing and shoving every time the ball was in the box today. The referee set the tone early that he wasn't going to give anything. That's the Championship for you.

Mowatt's red was certainly in the 'orange' territory. But I think a player who has been described as a 'leader' should think twice about jumping in on the stretch. It's just brainless. I actually thought Livermore's tackle was much worse, but the referee didn't even give a foul for that one. Had that tackle been in the Premier League, we'd have been down to 10 much earlier.

All in all, I just think the manager invading the pitch looking like he's going to KO the ref and the players scrapping, after that performance, is utterly embarrassing.

Some honesty from Cardiff's Steve Morison commenting on the incident: "It was all caused by them having a stonewall penalty and the referee not giving it."
