Ross Co v Hibs, Sat 30 October, KO 3.00pm
#1
Well I think Jack Ross is reaching a "crunch time" position after Hibs now hitting a barren run of 4 x consecutive defeats - TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!! And not a single compromise draw registered in there!! His team choices have been wrong and the set up has been dreadful. However, there were some signs last night v Celtic of the players playing with some purpose and resolve in the final quarter of the game. The Staggies have registered their 1st win of the season with a very good display in a 0-5 thrashing of Dundee last night at Dens Pk although note Dundee hit with injuries to key players. This is still a fixture v a team at the foot of the Scot Prem and IMO we must try to win it at all cost thereby kickstarting a push up the league table again - try to avoid a negative "freefall" situation!! It's also time for Ross to start picking a starting line up for this particular fixture that is the right formation to face this particular side while ensuring the team will "show up" with a full commitment. God help us (and him!) if we lose this match!! I think Paul Hanlon will not make this match due to a pulled hamstring and just hope that assumption is wrong. It will be shit if he is indeed not gonna make it! Something Ross will just have to redress, but do it effectively. Field three at the back? I'll be surprised if he does that. C'mon Hibs - time to "grow a pair" and lift performances to overcome this mini-crisis.

Ross County and Livingston games are now massive for Jack.

Forgot to add that I think Doidgy is greatly missed up front as he is one of the most hard-working players that Hibs have on their books. Doesn't score enough goals from great positions, but normally puts in a helluvah shift for the team and is a missing partner for Nisbet who has looked "lost" and useless in recent matches. His role in needlessly losing possession in the lead up to Celtic's third goal - looking like an amateur football player with a poor touch and lacking real awareness of a threatening situation and didn't even have the gumption to just "put his laces through the baw".

We need to get the 3 points here, nothing more really needs to be said.

"He really has to get a grip over the next few games or we could go into freefall.
Its all getting a bit butcher-esque."

A quote from jim on the Celtic match thread, that hits the nail on the head. JR is fast running out of time.

It looks like a repeat of JR's position late last year after he lost two semi-finals plus endured some really crap results "into the bargain" and we were debating the same issues. I just wish he was more adaptable to changing situations - a "learning manager". He doesn't appear to have mellowed in that respect which is really disappointing TBH. I wanted rid of him last year as I didn't see us having any chance of winning a trophy under his stewardship. That view hasn't really altered at all. But he got the "thumbs up" because he had that "steady Eddie" approach and managed to "steady the ship" at that critical point when Hibs were either gonna drift away or "push on". I think the lack of any Hibs fans at matches helped his cause at that time as well as the Dons' stuttering season that Hibs eventually took advantage of although they still had their stuttering moments too. One additional opinion I will say is the fact that the Mathie transfer f### up in August didn't help things at all. How significant an effect was it??? I dunno! It didn't help one jot and it was a pity that Hibs didn't conduct a seamless transfer exercise with all concerned accommodated and happy to move on or come in to bolster Hibs squad. All was bliss until the injuries (plus suspension) started to pile up after Ibronx. Time to find an accountable and settled line up from a manager who needs to "earn his corn" now.

Guess we will see if the players want to play for Ross.

Porto, in his times interview was clearly pointing out Lennons bravery when he took Hibs to ibrox and parkhead, and how he was always boosting the young players confidence and afraid of no one. Felt like he was sending a message to Jack.

I'll call it - those players don't care if the manager sticks around or not.

Breaking news - MATCH POSTPONED DUE TO TO A COVID OUTBREAK, TWO PLAYERS INFECTED! As we all know, COVID19 is sadly still out there infecting people!! Well timed as lotsa Hibs fans already heading north!! Rolleyes IMO it is prob a "blessing in disguise" to defer this match v them at this particular time.

Game re arranged for Wednesday ( yes this Wednesday) ............................so no fans ( unless the club pay for their travel costs lol) and not sure what team we can put out. Those players who have not been vaccinated will have to isolate if they have been in close contact with the positive players.

We'll have to run a sweep stake as to who we think will play!
