Always thought he had a great name for a cricketer.

When listening on the radio I always imagined him with a croquet mallet in hand rather than a cricket bat, or given he was a fine spin bowler more than batsman, coming "round the wicket" (as Richie Benaud would say in his own wonderful staccato way) and lobbing a spinning woodworkers mallet at the batsman.
