Chris Chilton - 77.

HULL CITY legend and all-time record goal scorer Chris Chilton has passed away at the age of 77.

Chilton scored 222 goals in 476 appearances for the Tigers between 1960 and 1971 and formed a legendary striking partnership with Ken Wagstaff.

The pair helped Hull win the Division Three title in 1965-66, with Chilton going onto turning down offers from several clubs, including Leeds United and Tottenham Hotspur, to remain with his hometown club.

Remember him and Foghorn Leghorn, sorry Wagstaff, on Sunday morning Yorkshire TV, Goals on Sunday, or whatever it was called (Snoots will put me right) introduced by Keith (Leeds fan) Macklin, pummelling other teams in the fog and mist rolling into the Boothferry Park mud off the Humber (and that was in August lol). After they put Town on we could go out and kick a football around our back garden (or usually into the neighbours) and not give a sod about anyone else.
