Not sure why we waited until we're as good as relegated before appointing someone.

Hopefully, the idea is to build and plan for Division 3 football next season.

Maybe it took a while to get permission to talk to him from Donny and then to negotiate whatever we are paying them for him. Either way while Thompson was getting results it wasn't something we needed to rush but after the last couple of weeks it was clear that we needed to make the change. Not too late yet, he nearly saved WBA in the Prem and they were ten points adrift when he was appointed. We need to get 4 more points than Rotherham (starting with 3 this week) and 6 more than Brum in our final 14 games to stay up. Not easy but doable if he can find the right formation etc. He certainly comes across as a manger that will take no crap but also is a players manager, hopefully the squad responds to him in a positive way.
