Hibs v Aberdeen, Sat 6 February, KO 3.00pm

Another "big game" looming for Jack Ross and even though I've previously suggested his removal, I honestly hope he overcomes his failure of not winning big matches. He won't have a better opportunity with the Dons being down on a number of key players - Cosgrove transferred out, Taylor suspended and Hedges injured while their goalie, Lewis, is on a "downer". I listened to Livy's manager, David Martindale, commenting in his PM interview that he'd studied closely how the Dons move around on the pitch and set up a perfect game plan to stifle and beat them - I like this guy, my type of "thinking" manager, and I hope Jack Ross listened to that interview - it was enlightening!! Time to apply a similar philosophy and stuff any notion of there being a "bogey". I know that Hibs home record is downright awful, a conundrum when one compares it with a vg away record, but there can be no excuses for players not lifting their own morale and efforts when realising the importance of this particular fixture in trying to chase down Celtic's 2nd position as well as consolidating our 3rd spot in the Scot Prem. C'mon Hibs - start winning these matches on our home turf!!

We've a pretty poor pitch to be fair, a great leveller in my opinion and certainly doesn't suit our style. Let's get stuck into Aberdeen, especially early on to pressurise Lewis, plus let's put to bed this terrible record against the other top teams.

Always worry against Aberdeen............ we get bullied especially in midfield. Boyle better put 2 pairs of shin pads on as he will come in for some treatment and no doubt we will see the usual rotational fouling of him.  Confused

Be interesting to see how Gogic and Irvine cope with the usual tactics from the Dons.

How much a part will the pitch play? Huh

'mon Hibs

Nobody can deny that we're due a bit of luck against the dons having suffered a few 1-0 defeats over the years.
Against us they have been pretty physical and have come out on top in the mid field encounters but Saturday will give out boys a good opportunity to turn the tables. A win coupled with their next two tough games could see us move five or six points adobe them in the race for third spot.
Time for our lads to grow a set and put them in their place.

It doesn't seem to matter how pish Aberdeen are they always seem to do a number on us.

This time we need to be totally on our game and get the 3 points.

We conceded a lot more possession after that crucial second Hibs goal but hey ho - JOB DONE!! Well done to Stevo for setting up that comfort goal for Boyly. A great result today together with the news that Livy were finally beaten by Saint Johnstone.

3 points and a job well done. Needed the second crucial goal, so well done to Boyle for finishing it but also to a superb ball from Stevenson. ( as people know, I am not his biggest fan, but credit where credit is due)

Penalty was soft, but for once the luck and decisions went for us and a little more composure from the one on ones ( Cadden and Boyle first half) we wouldn't have needed it.

Well done Hibs.

ps: hope Irvine is OK as we don't have him for long so need to get as much playing time as possible.

Bar that wee mistake from rocky early on I though we were comfortable throughout the game, Gogic and Irvine were both great (the latter is showing himself to be a great signing) and I thought cadden did well too.

Boyle now looks like he's hopefully gonna hit a bit of form. Aberdeen on the other hand look like they are on the way down. Mcinnes definitely sounding a bit tetchy afterwards. Livy losing was a real bonus.
