Not that this would happen, but just wondering.
Given Lakaku's preference for direct football and Berahino's preference for a bit more finesse.
Lakaku's £28m price tag and Barahino's £24m projected price tag, plus the fact Lakaku has not been performing consistently for Everton.
Would you take Lakaku for Berahino + £4m?
Four months ago, I would have in a heartbeat, now I would have to think about it a bit more.

Lukaku has shown that he needs feeding and is not that creative. Prefer Berahino if attitude plugged in correctly.
I am hoping that TP invests I him and shows him that getting a new partner up front is the aim: Demba Ba, Deeney, Vardy. Don't care who, but someone he can work with and feel shows the club is his to shine in

They were waxing lyrical about Lukaku on MOTD.
Can I be greedy and ask for both?

I wouldnee say that Lukaku wasn't creative - he does fashion space and creates his own chances IMO but maybe in a completely different way.
Definitely 2 completely different types of striker .......who's worth more?
Impossible to answer. I'm just amazed how Saido has come on in the last 12 months - to even be talked about in this way is to his, and the club's, great credit

I think they are different types of player.
Lukaku is quicker, better in the air and more likely to create something out of nothing with his pace
and ability to run at players.
Saido is technically better, has a better first touch and the ability to strike the ball with power on
both his left and right side.
If he's one on one, Lukaku has the ability to tear defenders a new one with his pace, something
Saido doesn't have. But Saido is more likely to fashion a shot in a tight area with his balance and
ability to go either way. All in all, I'd say Lukaku is slightly more advanced in his development, but
there's not a lot between the 2 in terms of how many goals they would produce.

Remember the way we all axed lyrically about how brilliant Lakaku was when he was here on loan scoring 17 in a season.
So I thought this deserved a bit of a review with Saido now equalling Lakaku's 17 goals in a season with quite a few games still to go. Short of a serious injury it is difficult not to see him beating Lakaku's numbers.
Are we underestimating how good SB actually is, after knowing him since he was a lad???

I would swap Berahino for Lukaku in a heartbeat. We can definitely get the best out of Lukakau, a top player who keeps his head down and his gob shut. I really think the £28m price tag is hanging heavy on his shoulders.
As for Saido, yes hes doing really well and that goal yesterday was brilliant BUT his attitude and off field antics leave a lot to be desired, He is another Anelka or Odemwingie elect.
I think he will always be followed by controversy and holding clubs/managers to ransom. Yes he's young and Naïve but I don't think that will change.
He has already expressed his desire to move on to 'Bigger things' after all the club has done for him.
I wouldn't cry if he went on his way and we got a decent price for him.

I think Slick's nailed the essential differences between the two players.
Also, Lukaku's 17 goals for us were all in the league I think, whereas Saido's 17 so far includes 11 in the league (so still time to overhaul Lukaku's figure). Plus Lukaku scored that hat-trick against Manchester United in THAT game (and missed a chance at the end to make it 6-5!). For me, £28m was too much for Lukaku.
I think on balance I'd rather have Saido (his shooting is exceptional) but imagine having both of them.

SB is an exceptional player, no doubt. His balance, eye for goal, ability to hit the difficult ball so well - not seen that before. And he's - what - 21? Obviously going to get better, and I think TP will be an enormous influence on him if we manage to keep them BOTH for a couple more years!
I'd honestly rather have SB right now than Lukaku, who I really rate!
