Believe what you want But the idiots on VAR only look after themselves we have yet to have a decision this season.

A lot comes down to player reactions. In that first one with Jimenez, had Koch gone rolling around on the floor, VAR would've been in a lot more pressure to send him off. But because he gets on with his business like there's no contact, the player gets away with it.

I personally don't think Pereira's was a sending off. While I've seen him lash out several times last season, for me the replay was inconclusive in this case. Not sure how 2 referees can watch that replay and determine that it was a clear and obvious kick out.

But given that Van Anholt decided to play act, we needed to be doing the same when we get the chance IMO.

I can't believe that after the sending off, given Van Anholt's cheating, that our players didn't put more pressure on the ref to even things up after receiving several late tackles. Zaha's retaliation tackle could've easily been seen as a red in slow motion had Sawyers gone down with a heavy fall and done a couple of rolls.

That Ivanovic incident is another clear example of where 'altering' the ref to the situation could get you something. Personally, I didn't see that at the time so can't blame the ref and VAR for missing it either. However, the replay shows it's a clear pen so on these occasions you either need to be writhing around in agony or all getting in the refs face with mass appeals so the VAR ref wonders what the fuss is about and takes a look. The fact we didn't even appeal it means VAR probably didn't even bother looking.

All in all, we have been shafted for sure... But the players need to be a bit more 'savvy' to the gamesmanship (or cheating) in this league.

Totally ruined everything like Gibbs did at Everton.

We are well and truly relegated already. Too many players in the starting 11 who are championship level I’m afraid.

The only person I’m angry at today is Pereira

Well I’m sorry you think Pereira is to blame, because if that was a sending off my Aunt’s my uncle. Palace had 2 players Zaha who never even got booked for his first half tackle, and McCarthy should have walked for his jump tackle which was not even looked at by VAR.  we are being totally f****d by var. but Bilic will be lucky to keep his job because his sides cannot defend.  IT WAS NO RED CARD IN ANY ERA.

I don’t think it was a red card. My point is that in today’s game and poxy VAR it is. Pereira was stupid and cost as did Gibbs at Everton

My thoughts are - whose vetting the refs and Var people as to what teams they support Huh Huh

So a ref or a var man whose team is close to the relegation area doesn't want us to win to give his team a better chance of survival, if you get my thinking Whistle

The brown envelopes, decide what is and isn't reviewed and even if the machine is actually switched on. This is not a pi55 take it's FACT.

I`m afraid I have no more enthusiam for football any more. VAR has killed it. I spent my saturday and sunday afternoon binge watching Picard. It will soon become a minority sport.

What I mean is: If the ref is a secret Villa fan fan and they are 1pt above us and in trouble re relegation, and is refereeing us who are below Villa, would he be biased as to the Var decisions - yes is the normal answer, and that will follow for every ref/official in the land if they haven't been vetted as to which team/teams they follow.

I'd always understood that refs DID have to declare the Team they supported, which generally meant that 'Northern' refs reffed 'Southern' matches v Midland teams (and vice versa, generally).
BUT, when Albion played ManU the other week - and had some awful decisions against them - the ref's personal grinning photo was shown with a background of Old Trafford on it!! (In other words he was a dedicated ManU fan....so how come he gets to ref them!?)

Pretty sure that picture was a Photoshop that did the rounds as a joke.
