Not sure why Callum Robinson has been dropped again. For me, he'd probably be the 1st name on the team sheet based on in game performances this season. This guy can come on and change a game and still be left on the bench (i.e. Post Brighton); or he can start, play well and contribute yet still get benched for the next game (2 Weeks after scoring twice against Chelsea). I don't feel like this team is being selected on merit.

As much as I liked Grady last season, he's not been anywhere close to Robinson's level this season...

Another strange decision to favour Phillips over Gibbs to replace Townsend. Seems apparent that Bilic and Gibbs have fallen out after Bilic called him stupid post Everton. I mean, Gibbs was first choice at the start of the season so I can't assume he's now fell to 3rd choice - behind a midfielder who has never played the role - for footballing reasons.

Hoping for a win as it's vital to get 3 points in these sort of games if we are to stay up, but more tales of the unexpected from a Bilic team selection... For me, Robbo out makes us weaker.

So SB is playing a formation I have been looking forward to seeing more of a 3-4-2-1

Game's gone! I've seen some pathetic things in my life but that red card decision tops the lot.

That's absolutely nuts. Hardly any movement towards their player - hardly a yellow!
Yup, the game has become farcical

Thought we were looking pretty comfortable up till then.
Really like the look of Gallagher

I expected better of Michael Oliver on VAR than to make that decision. Usually he's not the type to send someone off for nothing.

There's a very slight movement of the leg but it certainly isn't a "kick out" in my book. Even if it was intentional, which isn't clear, it should be at most a booking as there is no force.

Not too sure how 2 "premier league referees" can see that as a clear and obvious kick out to be honest. It's an absolutely joke.

VAR needs to stop looking at stuff that is invisible in real time. As for the ref coming to the monitor, what's the point? You know before they come they will give what the VAR referee has told them to look at. When you're looking at a slow mo with the intention of seeing something, you can make it whatever you want.

Then just after Zaha marauds into Sawyers and doesn't even get booked. Couldn't make up how bad this refereeing is.

Looks like it will be 3 points lost now, as we were actually doing okay after giving Palace a goal. I think we will struggle to even draw now.

The Zaha one just after the red was much worse. If that's not retaliation, what is it?

Yea, if that's not a booking, then a booking doesn't exist.

That said, our players don't help themselves. Had Sawyers gone down rolling about like Van Anhalt then the ref has to at least book Zaha if not go to VAR, but instead he just stays on his feet and the ref gives a regular foul. It was Van Anhalt going down like he'd been shot from Pereira's nominal movement that's forced the ref to go to VAR. As much as I hate diving, play acting or pressuring the ref, sometimes you have to do it in order to make the game a level playing field. We seem to be very naive in the way we are going about our business.
