Motherwell v Hibs, Sat 5 December, KO 3.00pm

IMO this is a tricky match for Hibs v physically strong opponents and I think the guys will really have to "up their game" in order to attain a positive result. Gogic must return after being given a deserved rest v Dundee. Also I'd still like to see Boyly dropped and finally given a rest and Jamie Gullan allowed to play in the starting line up. Keep Darren Magregor and Porteous together in our central defence. Stevie Mallan's mid position again an issue to ponder whether he should be in a Hibs team playing this type of opposition? One or two "up top"? I'm not sure but based on Hibs recent form covering the past 2-3 weeks I would be cautious re playing at Fir Park. Their recent form has not been inspiring anyway but Hibs need to "show up" IMO. A strong, durable defensive unit is definitely uppermost in my mind and something Hibs defenders wanna apply and heed.

Cannot see Boyle being dropped as seems to be the first name on the teamsheet............bit like McGinn at Villa. Form of both has dropped and need work away from game day.

Defense in this fixture needs to be strong and I don't know if Hanlon is back?  If not we will go with Darren again and I hope he is getting up to speed.

I, too, would play Gullan playing off Nisbet, but feel when he does play we then play Murphy in a more central role which in my opinion is not his best position. ( since Gullan is more left sided)  However I expect Doidge will play. Sad

Motherwell have had two great results in their most recent games- two 3-0 victories is pretty impressive IMO.?

lol , ek, lets wait and see if the same 3.0 scenarios will be given against the uglies if they fall foul of covid rules? Whistle

...............mind you the way Smeltic are playing that will probably be a good result. Big Grin

Yeah, let's hope thats the end of Motherwell's good fortune this week.

Boyle could really use some bench time, its not happening though as there is a real lack of pace in this side and he's about the only one that can supply it.

I just think that easy six points awarded to Motherwell actually sums up the whole "surreal" nature of footie since the season began, in what I've previously described as "footie that is played in an echo chamber". The unusual scenario is there for all to see and it is what it is and won't change anytime soon as lots n lots of clubs consistently lose revenue as the months pass by regardless. It is definitely not footie as we know it and things won't change any time soon either.

Aye, 0762, not football as we are used to. Just have to stick with it and hope things get back to "normal" sometime during 2021.

No Gogic again and no Mackie so Stevenson comes straight back in ahead of Doig. One up top with Nisbet probably supported by Boyle. Wright and Hallberg get starts.........hold on to your hats! Smile Doh

Halftime, no score.

Started fairly brightly but 'Well now controlling the midfield and looking more likely. They had the ball in the net but chalked off for offside.

Again, we are a hard watch with a powder puff midfield. Not many options on the bench so lets see what Ross can tweak for the second half. Huh

I really resent paying for streams that aren't very good.

Anyways its not been a great half. How many times has Boyle not bothered his arse to go past an opponent ? Again the lack of pace and chemistry in our midfield holds us back. Motherwell look more likely, and they are getting joy behind Stevenson.
