As a huge supporter of good sportsmanship and fair play, I still found it funny that a tichy little 5'5" midget with short arms could outjump a 6' tall goalkeeper with long arms. English players cheat a lot of the time - it happens all over the world regularly.

He said himself it was Shilton's ball all day long. There was no way on earth he was going to head it but the way it was coming down into Shilt's bread basket there was only one way he was going to get to it first. Not a case of how tall Shilts was, Shilts would have caught that without jumping. He was already in the air but by no means jumping as high as he could. Even with short arms, your elbow is about level with the top of your head with your arms up - so add a foot to that and however high you can jump.

When you're already a foot or two of the ground - try jumping another foot higher - if you can do it, you can probably walk on water and feed a few thousand with a handful of fish butties too. The bad news is, you'll be attending woodwork class just before Easter.

Well defended, theo, far better than Shilton. He had all the advantage but didn't go and make it his ball like he should have. We Scots are well qualified to criticise, considering our experiences with goalkeepers.
