Betfred Cup: Hibs v Dundee, Sat 28 Nov, KO 3.00pm

Hibs bizarrely playing Dundee again in the next round of the Betfred Cup and I just hope they register a good win against them as previously achieved. I'm slightly cautious on this happening mainly because I perceive that the same result is sometimes too easily assumed v the same opposition. Remember this is HFC we are dealing with. Jack Ross definitely has a team choice that can "turn over" this Dundee side as previously attained but they must "show up" and remember that Hibs are "carrying" players like Boyle who IMO is a luxury player who does not contribute enough to any match. We should win it but I can see a potential "shock" mainly because of the odd way that Hibs have been playing matches in recent times. C'mon Hibs - prove me wrong and start playing with a swagger and belief in what we are trying to do i.e. win games and impress your fans!!!

Only in Scotland 0762 could this bizarre double fixture happen in consecutive Cup games Doh

No predictions from me as who knows which Hibs side will turn up...........hopefully the one that works hard and dominates Dundee, but not holding my breath. Sad

This will be interesting to see how our powder puff midfield get on without a defensive midfielder with Gogic on the bench. If I was in the Dundee camp I would not be unhappy at the news. Assume Gogic is not 100% fit so Ross doesn't want to risk him for 90 minutes.

Questionable midfeild that gives me the fear if I'm honest, I hear Scott Allan is back in the gym so just maybe some hope for the future.

Re the match, that was 90+mins of our lives wasted - not a "good watch" but interesting to see Darren Magregor playing alongside Ryan Porteous and subsequently Hibs defence looking fairly strong and resolute with a "clean sheet" registered as  proof of a job well done. However, the Hibs team clearly unbalanced from attacking mid to our forwards - very poor. Stevie Mallan rightly "hooked" by JR after HT and a wee bit miffed but his replacement, Halberg, added some improvement to a poorly functioning attack formation in the second half. Anyway, Hibs progress to the quarter-finals and we'll see what the cup draw gives them tomorrow - maybe Alloa eh!! Smile
