I'm completely traumatised - I have a funeral this morning and we're leaving church to a recording of some dreadful song about how great Leeds Utd are. Better than staying in there and listening to it, but even so...

You should be celebrating the fact that Leeds finally has a team which is enjoyable to watch and can enrich pretty humdrum lives.

In January my partner's non-religious burial heard the theme from Now Voyager (Bette Davis) as we laid his body to rest. That was my act of love.

Personally I would like to go out to The Trumpton Riots by Half Man Half Biscuit or failing that Road to Nowhere by Talking Heads.

Read for me a Dylan Thomas poem (not Do not go Gentle) and a passage from The Catcher in the Rye. Don't bother God over my passing, or any of my other OPTA statistics, if he exists he can list me as a failed experiment.

My old-boyish advice to a vicar who is a Baggie, would be wear a Baggie shirt underneath, next to your skin. Let it feel your beating heart. That will drown out any Leeds United song. The only person that funeral isn't for is you.
