Fulham vs WBA - Match Thread

It's all deja vu as we kick off November with yet another Monday night game, still searching for that elusive first win of the season. This time Craven Cottage is the destination, and as opponents Fulham are propping up the table with just one point so far, it's a golden opportunity. The first half at the Amex was a poor showing even by this season's standards, but a first Baggies goal for Karlan Grant provides a glimmer of hope that we might yet cause teams a few problems on the attack.

The Cottagers have so far conceded the same number of goals as Albion and scored one fewer, which seems a recipe for the two sides cancelling each other out, especially as our last four encounters have all ended in draws. And of course, our record in this fixture in general remains a miserable litany of failure: winless since 2010, without a success at Craven Cottage since the League Cup in October 2005, and without a league victory there since October 1967. All in all, good omens are very thin on the ground as we look forward to Monday. But if we can build on last week's second half, then there's a chance we could defy the history books against the odds.

Famous fans: They're a discriminating bunch in that corner of West London, with Hugh Grant, Pierce Brosnan, Richard Osman, Keith Allen, Emily Maitlis, Max Clifford and the late Keith Chegwin among a sizeable list of those who've graced the half-time queue for champagne and boeuf en croute.

53 years ago!!! Bloody Hell!..............

In the pub opposite the Ground a youngish bloke walked in, and he was showing his mates this bag of eggs. Thought nothing of it much, but when we (Brummie Roaders) 'took over' the 'ammersmiff End an hour later, I sickeningly discovered a smashed egg had ruined my mohair suit jacket. Angry Laugh

(I looked out for the same bloke in the same Pub a year or so later when we also won there in the 4th Round, but no eggs to be seen. Big Grin )
Start every day off with a smile and get it over with

As I see southampton dismantling Villa its occurred to me that we've now played 4 of the top 6 sides as it stands. Hmm!

Mind you, it could be that they’re in the top 6 because they’ve played us!

I hope we go for it tomorrow and play to our strengths.

A clean sheet with a brace for Grant is what we need. 0 - 2 COYB.

Both teams currently have 1 point from 6, according to the pre-match summary on the BBC.
Good to see they give as much of a toss about us as ever.
