Latest news
Another month gone - where the heck is the year going? 10 months down, 2 to go and we still aren't allowed in stadiums - or are we?
Frazer Campbells goal v Forest has been voted the Championship goal of the month for September. It was also Town's goal of the month, but given it was the only one we scored ....... no surprise there then. (Apologies if reported by others afore - I wasn't paying attention and it is now rather old news).

After 2 wins on the trot Town have lost two on the trot, and The New Den isn't exactly one of our favourite destinations most seasons.

Meanwhile Town (or someone else who we will maybe owe a lot of rent to) have apparently spent some considerable brass fixing up pitches at Canalside but the they still haven't started on the main building yet. Strange but I thought that was why they stopped visits of the general public and Town supporters in particular, down that little narrow driveway off Leeds Road.

Hoggy should be OK, up to Carlos whether he plays. Ward not going anywhere near a game before the next break.

It's a sell out
Millwall have completely sold out the stadium for this one.
https://www.millwallfc.co.uk/news/2020/o...-beamback/

Well not quite - they've sold out their hospitality suite where home fans can watch the game, in the stadium on a big screen, but not outside sat in the stands.

Now if one of those halfwits (I call them something else on other threads) in Downing Street or the H's of P, can tell me by which logic people can gather in an enclosed space under a football stand to watch a game of football that is going on just the other side of a wall/curtained off window and it's safer than sitting in the stands 2 down and 3 across from your mates then I'm all ears. Yes things need controlling before and after the game and on the concourses/toilets/concessions at half-time and during the game but it's all about management and not beyond the wit of man to organise it sensibly.

It totally beggars belief that stadiums capable of holding 20,000+ supporters, that generally only get 50% of that at most home match days anyway and could easily and safely hold 5000-7000 safely spaced out from each other are not allowed to do so. Pro-rata that for bigger/smaller stadiums. Even Deliah at Norwich has thrown her floury baps into the arguments about this one.

Over 90% of transmissions are within the "home" or work environment in cramped, poorly ventilated conditions, not out in the fresh air. Kindly provide me the evidence that I'm wrong because there's plenty around that proves I'm not, starting with University/College stoodents in halls of residence and folks in houses of multiple occupancy, food factories - particularly if there's a lot of water vapour around - and mostly ooop Nooerth and in the Mudlands. It's starting to fester again in that there Larndan Tarn again now too.

Back to the Football

Last time out
Town lost 2-1 at Brum thanks to a last minute winner from Useless Lukas while Meewwaaww won 0-2 at Both Ends, who had beaten us the previous Saturday. This extended PNE's run of defeat to 4 from 4 at home this season and took Millwall up to joint 3rd place on 15 points.

Tables
Town dropped to 16th after the last set of results, Meewwaaww went up to turd equal
[Image: qukwtP9.jpg]

Form
Well to say we're both a bit indifferent doesn't really cover it.
Gary Rowett has turned what quickly became a difficult to beat side under Neil Harris after promotion from League 1 into a winning side challenging for a play-off place. Rowett replaced Harris a year ago after Harris jumped ship and moved to the bright lights of Cardiff. Like PNE, Millwall are so far more successful on their travels, having won 3 and lost 1, while at home they are unbeaten but have drawn 3 of the 4 so far. The win was 2-0 v Luton.

Rowett and a slack handful of coaches recently tested positive for the Covids and hasve been isolating. He was coaching by remote control at Preston and he will be doing the same on Saturday. See the Pressers section.

Towns away form is a scintillating, as if you hadn't noticed, 1 win, 1 draw, 2 defeats, just in case you were wondering.

On another side of the coin - Toffo was playing for them not too long ago before he came our way via Lincoln.

Innies and Outies
You might recognise a certain Scott (Bugsy) Malone in there. He was as good for Derby as he was for us, basically bloody awful. What it was about playing for Fulham-on-Thames that made him so good, and he has since totally forgotten about how to use, is beyond me.

Who's banging 'em in
Jed Wallace is scoring regularly while ex-L666s centre forward Matt Smith is teeing them up while being a nuisance in and around the box. New signing Zahore finally chipped in a PNE on Tuesday.

Local music
Their own fans singing - "No one likes us, we don't care" is apparently as good as it seems to get!!!

Apart from that a few Pearly kings and queens in all the regalia singing in Mary Poppins,  Whistle
[Image: latest?cb=20160119085300]
Meewwaaww seems a bit short of famous musicians based on a quick Google search. So I've expanded it to their new home of Sarf Bermondsey.

He didn't so much sing as spin the odd disc and like the sound of his own voice but Danny Baker readily comes to mind as a fan. I've covered his antics while being well paid for a couple of hours work on BBC Radio 5 Live and how his twitter feed became his downfall before. Strange that similar or worse tweets don't lead to the downfall of a POTUS but there you are.

[Image: danny-baker-tweet_trans_NvBQzQNjv4BqqVzu...go-overlay]

Heavyweight boxer David Haye is also a fan - if he says he can sing/play guitar/drums, I'm not for arguing.
[Image: TELEMMGLPICT000162297760_trans_NvBQzQNjv...UjP4M.jpeg]

Musically - Morrissey claims some allegiance, but he's from Manchester for crying out loud.
Still, it makes a change from all those plastic Mancs that live in Larndan I suppose. I'm not playing any of his vids as I don't want you topping yourselves when you've not yet finished reading my thread. What you do as a grown adult afterwards is your problem - get some help or otherwise deal with it, please. You know it makes sense. Otherwise if you are planning on going out tonight - make sure you have a thing to wear. It's going to be a bit nippy.

Mark Feltham (born 20 October 1955, Bermondsey, Southwark, London) is an English musician, best known for his harmonica playing. Feltham is a long-term member of the British rhythm and blues band Nine Below Zero, and Rory Gallagher's band; and is often used as a session musician. He has an extensive discography, playing on all and sundries albums - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Felth...an)#Albums

He's playing the mouth truss/harp on this Nine Below Zero track

Also played it on Harvest to the World by the Christians amongst a string of other hits.

Steven Douglas White is an English drummer who has worked extensively with Paul Weller and The Style Council among others.

He has a website giving drumming lessons if you want to annoy your neighbours - or your mum and dad if you are still at home.

They can't all win
This weekends fixtures has a fair proportion of games devoted to sides in mid-table mediocrity who will take points off each other, plus a number of bottom v top games where you can expect the unexpected.

We've played 'em before
Only a few weeks back in our last game of last season, after the big fella had told the Cowleys he'd had enough of our inept performances against the likes of Luton, Danny (boy) Scoffer was in charge for this one. His youthful side came unstuck in the cauldron that is The New Den, even though it was less than half full and neither of us were going anywhere fast. That cauldron will be somewhat lukewarm on Saturday at best, as several other teams have found so far. If their home form matched their away form they'd be away with the fairies - or at least Reading.

We win some, we lose some. We tend to win some when they are going down - but the crowd helps 'em a lot when they aren't, including when we have a sniff of going up.

Nice one, theo. Thumb up

it really does beggar belief. How can it be more safe to watch in a confined space, with a load of strangers, than it is to watch it live in the open air? Unbe- bloody-leavable, Jeff! Huh

It is - but it's no different than a pub serving a meal in the eye's of those myopic pricks that run this country. It doesn't matter that it's actually part of the stadium, it could be a pub 200 yards or 200 miles down the road as far as they are concerned. But you aren't allowed those 10-25 steps into a seat in the stadium to watch it live.

This is how thick this prick is.

Sorry - politics in a football thread but it's so called (clueless dimwit) politicians who are screwing up football and our lives in general. I also doubt either of them would have a clue what a sports stadium looks like if they were hung by their bollocks on a zip wire inside any one of them.

5 changes today, Duhaney makes first start, Campbell back on the bench, wouldn't be surprised if he gets at least 20 minutes.
Murray Wallace and Bugsy line up against us today

When you've got to make it someonething fast

Apparently Bodgit is making an announcement about the next lockdown this afternoon. Just been to Asda to pick up vital supplies, you should see the clowns bunging up the roundabout for the MickyD's on the way there and back. You'd think it was their last supper.

Relying on BBC app and SSN updates.

and anything that anyone in range of a Radio Local transmitter or an iFollow pass can add to the afternoon. Other than that it hasn't rained down here for about 2 hours. I'm trying to decide whether to order a canoe, an ark or a rubber inflatable.
