St Mirren v Hibs, Sat 12 Sept, KO 3.00pm

Well we will see what Hibs are made of following their previous ignominious home defeat by their Dons' bogey team when it comes to league matches. The Buddies are a stuffy side and will be difficult to break down. Therefore Hibs need to "show up" in this match in the knowledge they are close to the top of the league and must immediately "push on" to winning matches again. I think JR has to "freshen up" the team a wee bit and hope that it gives us a positive result. I suspect this result will be a draw but hope I'm wrong re this view. C'mon Hibs!

I see a second St Mirren player has tested positive for Covid-19. Does this endanger the game going ahead?

Seems like no rules have been broken and the game is going ahead...... For now anyway.

It transpires that all the SM goalies are out of this match due to coronavirus. Jim Goodwin looking to pull in Hertz goalie, Zlamal, as an emergency loan signing. I'dve thought that any player coming in to play for the Saints, under these circumstances, would be very cautious indeed for fear of being infected.

No excuses today. 3 points is a must.

Don't think St Mirren have a goalie today by the sounds of things, we will find out when the line ups are announced, Scott Allan out through injury so I'd imagine a chance for Mallan who I hope shoots at every opportunity and works whoever is being put in St Mirrens goals today.

3-0, much improved performance and great to have 2 up top again with a far simpler and more balanced midfeild.

Yep! I can't hide my delight at Hibs attaining almost a perfect response to that previous Aberdeen defeat, my only disappointment being that the Dons won v Killie. Also there is a strong rumour that Allan has "fallen out" with JR and wants away from ER. I wonder if he was told that he is not getting a regular game because JR wants a more balanced mid formation - notice the difference with Gogic "doing the dirty work" box to box and then Newell consequently has one of his best mid performances this afternoon.

I chuckled at the extreme response apparently coming from certain factions of Hertz fans against Budge and HMFC having the gall to loan out Zlamal to the Buddies - apoplectic at loaning him to a footie club that played a part in relegating them!!!?? Gotta seriously consider their own role in being relegated - the team was shite and could hardly get any positive results up to the premature closure of the Scot Prem season due to the impending threat of COVID19!!

Well done hibs!!! The scoreline maybe flattered us a wee bit at times but its another good away result. Newell and Mcginn outstanding and a lot of positives to take from that.

Next up Sevco and Sellick..... Be interesting to see how we get on.
