The message was loud and clear on Saturday as soon as TP left his seat in the stand and entered the technical area. Those three hadn't got a clue and it was a very public rebuke. Thank goodness JP has woken up and smelled the coffee.
Whether you will end up a TP convert or not he's brought a freshness and no nonesense approach to the team that's been missing for years. It feels to me like we've got a manager again regardless of his job title.

Seems to be a commonly held thought but I've no idea where this comes from or if there's ever been any evidence of this.....
Drewks.... something was going on........didn't a group of players go over Mel's head to JP to complain about his tactics and systems; forcing Mel to abandon his intentions.
Where did Downing stand in all that; supportive to Mel or otherwise?
More recently many of you have been remarking on the fact that certain senior players were getting picked game after game even though they clearly weren't performing.
I think Pulis will be a new broom.... and we all know what that does don't we!!
The January transfer period is going to be very interesting.
Some days I'm top dog, most days I'm just the lamp post.

Likewise for Dean Kiely, who's been here eight years as player and coach, and been a great servant in that time. However, the way that things have gone over the last two years, a fresh start is required at all levels.
All the best for the future, Keith and Dean.
Great post I could not agree more with your comments, it's just a shame some chose to abuse Downing with his wolves links.
Thanks to both for their work, especially keeping us up last year when Mel had lost the plot, we may be surprised where they turn up next as both are well respected in the game.
Also, am I the only one not pleased to have Gerry Francis come in? This is the man who was on the pa system taking the mick when we were relegated at Twerton Park, shows the type of man he is and I will never forgive.

I'm excited about the window too but I'm not expecting much change, we could have another eventful summer with the loans ending and (presumably) some contracts ending.

I cannot believe the changes have happened so quickly. It's like a dream come true. I wondered what Downing and Co had on JP.
In my opinion they'd ruled the roost since Woy went. I would imagine he took no notice of them during his tenure.
What a cosy little cabal they must have had along with some of the players after Hodgson left. Clarke and Irvine weren't big enough to deal with them. Pepe Mel's time must have been a misery for the poor sod. Downing, it would appear, at one point, helping the players go over his head to JP because Mel's methods were too much for them!
Well, all that ended in the first half on Saturday when TP could see Mungo, Midge and Mary hadn't got a clue and he took over. That was obviously the end for them. Next comes the players!
Exciting times!

As Tidy and Silver say, new territory and food for thought for JP as he has his thinking altered about coaching set-ups. Kiely, the one I liked best and thought might have a future at the club, will at least have his radio/media work to go into more full time. Good luck to them all. And I think I'd rather have Gerry Francis in as a coach than Les Ferdinand, somehow. GF has been there, done that as a player with England and as a manager at QPR and Spurs, so he should have some good input to make both to the players and to the club. JP and we the supporters are all about to have our Albion worlds changed. I can't wait to see how the future unfolds on the pitch.

Opinion is shifting already with me with these departures, not TP's biggest fan and jury will remain out for a while however the dismantling of the "establishment" that he no doubt negotiated as a condition of his employment is long overdue. For that I have to give him and JP credit. I do want to see some commitment to the kids however, it would be extremely disappointing to see the likes of Nabi disappear when they have been nurtured for so long.

Clearly Pepe Mel's tactics were wrong, why play a high pressing game when the tream and especially all our centre backs have no pace? The coaches and players could see it and so they complained, apparently.
We managed to stay up in spite of Mel's effort, or lack of it, so the coaches must have had some sort of clue. Oh and we may be selling Saido for £20M, the lad who has been nurtured and coached for the last 6 years by Mungo and Midge.
They go with my best wishes

Not so sure Nash, who we are apparently looking to bring in as goal keeping coach will be an ideal choice at the moment, as he is currently about to go on trial for stalking.
West Bromwich Albion coaching target Carlo Nash is due in Crown Court on Thursday charged with stalking.
Nash, 41, who previously played for Middlesbrough, Norwich City and Everton, appeared at Chester Crown Court on September 15 for a preliminary hearing.
Nash, of Leftbank, Manchester, indicated a not guilty plea to one count of stalking against Jill Nash between February 2013 and August 2014.
Nash is accused of accessing her email and social network accounts, attempting to attach a tracking device to her car, and accessing her iMac computer.
He is also alleged to have entered her home in Stockton Heath to read her mail.
He will next appear at Chester Crown Court on January 8 for a plea and case management hearing.
He was previously granted conditional bail.

Might as well add this little 'jewel' to Salopbaggie's little gem about Carlo Nash:
