Of our last seven meetings ranging from the 1992/93 to this season (old division 3 right through to the Championship and including one LC match), we have each won at home. There was an exception in 2000/01 when we drew in both ties. We seem determined to have have an honours even policy! 

However, I hate to say it but I think that record may be broken on Saturday. 

In total we have 32 league wins to their 30 and 21 draws.

Club connections

Calum Woods with us 2011 to 2014 when he transferred to PNE and stayed there until last year. 

One of our own, Tom Clarke, played for Town from 2005-13 before signing for PNE although to be released when his contract ends this season. 

Jermaine Beckford had a loan spell with us 2012-13. He initially had a loan spell at PNE from 2014-15 before signing until 2017.

League 1 to Championship promotion specialist, Simon Grayson, managed Town from 2012-13. After parting with his services, where do you think he ended up? Yes, that's right, PNE, where he remained until 2017.

What match was this?!:

Bill Shankly played for PNE for the majority of his career from 1933-49, including time away in the RAF, and racked up 297 appearances. That was the end of his playing career. He managed Carlisle from 1949, his first and only other club he played for. He went on to manage Grimsby and Workington before joining Huddersfield Town from 1956-59, naturally the highlight of his career. He went on to finish his management career at the little known Liverpool briefly (  ) from 1959-74. Wonder what happened to them?

Our last 6 results were WLLLWW whereas Preston's were LLDLLL.

After yesterday's results, Preston dropped to 9th and we went up to 19th but have now dropped to 20th with Hull beating Boro tonight. Also if Millwall beat Charlton tomorrow Preston will drop to 10th.

We should go into this buzzing from a 3-0 win over Brum. But this is football and it's a funny old game. We won yesterday after having less than half of the possession. Yet there are times that we have the best of it and we fail! There were lots of positives yesterday, though. Campbell was immense. Grant was comfortable on the left. We didn't get complacent when we were 2-0 up. Everyone seemed to slot together a lot better. And, I don't care what you say, the presence of Collin Quaner is a game changer!

Which scorers do we need to look out for? PNE's Daniel Johnson is on 12, Tom Barkhuisen has 11 and Josh Harrop 8.

For us, Karlon Grant has 18, Steve Mounie 8 and Juninho Bacuna 6. Well, he won't be scoring another on Saturday.

The first time we played each other was on Saturday 12th October 1912 at Leeds Road? It was in Division 2 and finished a 1-1 draw. Our scorer was Thomas Elliott. He was born in 1890 and died 1955. He came from the north-east and played for us from 1912 to 1919. He was deaf.

It's been near on 15 weeks since I've had a proper pint and I for one can't wait.

Given that Both Ends kicked us off the park at theirs, ending Elphicks season into the bargain and we didn't even get a free kick for it, I'd love to see at least one Preston player positively planted into Row Z by a firm but fair challenge from Hoggy, Campbell or Herr Schinds this Saturday. I'm not naming and shaming but certain Town players might have one or two in mind. For the rest of the 89 minutes and 55 seconds I'd like to see an attacking performance from Town that secures another 3 points.

I don't do FaceAche (or most of that other sh!t) Wakey so I've no idea whether my locals are open for drop-in's for a pint or two or not. Enjoy yours, like everyone else, you deserve it.

According to the Beeb Beeb Ceeb News you are only allowed a couple of hours in any given hostelry, which I've not seen reported anywhere else at all. Well, it doesn't take that long to drink a couple of pints and move on. It might take 2 hours to get in, which is another matter entirely if you've got a full bladder and it's one-out one-in for the loos too.

The 54 points that sent Posh down could be equalled or bettered this season, with 10 points covering only around ooooh nearly half the division, and teams in the top half also dropping like a stone. Wiggin going bust could either inflate or completely bust their ballon. They might not be the last. The lower league teams would have loved to finish the season but realistically they knew they couldn't afford it. There's more than Wiggin in our Division that can't afford it either.

There's nowt like not getting paid to to make you ask, why the hell am I doing this? Remember our season when it happened to us? For some it was all Wadsworth's fault - well some of it was. Pretty football but we never had a shot on target. Thank fook that never happened again ----- oh, hang on a minute.
