I think they and the club have the option to do a short term extension to get them to the end of this season. Thats why Lyle Taylor at Charlton is not playing, he does not want to get injured and miss out on a big transfer so he is out of contract at the end of the month.

Grabara and Simpson have been released, or rather their contracts haven't been extended, so will leave on June 30th.
Elias Kachunga, Jon Gorenc Stankovic, Collin Quaner, Joel Coleman, Demeaco Duhaney, Rekeil Pyke and Ryan Schofield have all extended their contracts into July.
So have loan men Jonas Lossl (Everton), Emile Smith Rowe (Arsenal), Chris Willock (Benfica), Andy King (Leicester City) and Trevoh Chalobah (Chelsea).

It's not good....it's not good at all.
Aye well, at least we're not Leeds fans living in Bradford.
Or Baggies fans living with the Dingles - oh, hang on a minute. nah, no problem we always win down here anyway.
 SHEP.
Provisionally they are offering me an initial 12 months as a contractor/consultant. It can't be a full 12 months ( i.e. four weeks work each month) as otherwise HMRC would be on them like a ton of bricks to re-employ me. Two weeks per month will pay all the regular bills and let me do most of what I like to do, like wander around the country watching Town as and when we can do that again, though I won't save much/might just dip into savings occasionally. 3 weeks and I'm more than happy but it also gives me the chance to find odd bits of consultancy stuff elsewhere too without worrying about where my next bacon sarnie is coming from. I've another 4 years until the Gov't Pension kicks in. The forecasts on my Private Pension will barely pay the bills, but they are taking almost as much a year in fees, robbing barstewards. I've currently (or had) enough in there that if I drawdown £1 grand a month it will last well into my 80's.
Talking to one of the lads that set this company up a few years back, it was more about dropping numbers off the direct payroll. If they want me in for more than 3 weeks in a month I'll end up with more top line than I get now and my tax drops to 20% as self-employed. One door closes, another one opens. If it doesn't, give it a kick.

I think it was more his own bravado, insisting he could play on. When he eventually did limp off he'd done his cruciate in and was out for 12 months.

I think we will be down to the barebones once the season is completed.
Much like our relegation from the Premier League where the out of contract players were cast off because it was the easiest way to cut our wage bill the same will apply now because of the cost of COVID19.
The only ones i can see being offered any type of deal are Schofield and Duhaney
As for the loan players(contracted), we will no doubt shift them all out on loan again. I don't think Hadergonads will be a problem or Kongolo if fit but Diakhaby and Mbenza we'll be lucky if anyone wants them.
it will leave a very thread bare squad in need of massive rebuilding

Danny Simpson has tweeted that he was offered a contract to the end of the season but it was withdrawn an hour and a half before the Wigan match. Now that might explain why he had such a poor game but doesn't explain why this was done and by whom.
Was it Big Phil? Danny Cowley? Agent putting a spanner in the works?

Latest on Twitter: Simpson asked for an extra month's wages. Phil told him to feck off.
