John Terry, would love it if he came out of retirement as he is our only world class CB
I don't think Rooney has lost his hunger. Think it is just that he isn't magical at the level required to beat the best teams. Sure, he scores plenty of goals against the minnows but if we really want to win a major trophy then Sturridge, Wellbeck & Stirling are the future with Walcott, AOC & Barkley not far behind.
The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.

Agreed with the manager part, but out of the Old Guard, Gerrard apart (and wouldn't be fair to call for him to come back so soon) there was only JT that was consistently good, has a terrific CB partnership woth GC, sweated blood and guts for his country and was a natural leader, something which we now no longer have and has been in superb form and never lost that form for me. Gerrard's time probably was up for me too as much as I rate him highly but I think he too has gone off the boil a bit but Henderson has come in and done a solid job in his place.
If JT came in for a season or two and helped the likes of Jones (who's far better at CB than the other positions he's played in), Stones and Chambers then one of those three could hopefully lead us out. Also there is Wilshere who has been touted as a future captain but he needs to keep injury free and maintain a good level of consistency.

If he hasn't lost his hunger then where was the tracking back and where was the fight and aggression that we all know he can show...there was none of that last week and on Mon night??

A lot of sense but JT back is madness.

I like Cahill and think he is a quality player, its who we stick with him that is the problem. I don't rate Jags that highly but Jones has the ability and hopefully LVG can get him playing better.

Rooney works harder than any other England player I've seen part from Beckham. He will never lose his hunger.
Our top scorer and our best player.

Oh c'mon Consilio, how can you say he's our best player??? It's obvious to EVERYONE that it's Sterling who's our best and most in form player ...Rooney our best player??? I think you are on the wind up mate! Yes he used to work hard and ahs done lots of great things for club and country...but that was ages ago, in the WC, the premiership so far & the last two England games I've seen NOTHING to suggest that he is our best player (apart from the overhead kick v Swansea which was quality I'll admit), he had potential to be but Euro '04 apart, he hasn't done anything when it matters most since!
Jeez you'll putting an Avatar of Rooney up next!!

Sterling has had ONE decent season. Rooney has been at it for years. Just look at his goal scoring record.
I'm not winding you up at all mate.

It was figure of speech more than anything seeing as I somewhat disagree with your opinion of Rooney but apologies though if I sounded like I didn't value your opinion of him.
Yes he has had 1 good season...but how old is Sterling?? Yep, only19!! He has many years ahead of him and he has the potential to be world class (like Rooney had) and will be if he keeps up this current level of form for both club and country for years to come.
Yes the scoring record is great, no doubt about it but I'm not going by his history, my main gripe with Rooney is that, whilst he IS quality & class...he isn't anywhere near as good as he was, and barring the 1 tournament when he was 18, he's looked peripheral at best in other tournaments ever since. Whether or not it's a confidence thing or that he is asked to play differently for the reason behind his poor form...I don't know but for me Rooney was nearly world class but had his form mirrored that of when he was 22-23 over the last 2-3 years then yes he would have been, the talents there...but his form has been too hit and miss for him to be judged as World Class, just my opinion mate!!

But Rooney hasn't shown it for years. He's scored 15+ probably 3/4 times in the last 10 PL seasons.
Removed until we're actually on our way back
