Agreed Drewks
Ultimately what has changed is the MONEY involved. It is now a RESULTS business and not an ENTERTAINMENTS business.
So if thats the business we are in, then we have to wake up to it and start to COMPETE with that in mind. Most other clubs have, even the so called glamour ones.
Results first, second and third. Anything else is a bonus.

I don't see the style of football been a real issue, Although he was on paper the outstanding candidate do you honestly think when asked about his style of play he'd of said i will be trying to get us to play like my Stoke side i honestly don't think JP would of brought him in if he was told we'd be playing like that. I expect us to be similar to Palace last season and in my opinion it wasn't bad football to watch....Pretty sure some people on social media think Peace was on his hands and knees begging saying "Ok Tony anything you want Tony"

Welcome Tony. I have sent you a welcoming present which is at the training ground. It is a NASA rocket with plenty of KY Jelly which you can use to ram up the arses of the players until the complacency leaves their bodies.
I think Pulis will use a style of play that suits the players. At Stoke, he inherited a squad of hoofers so he continued with it. At Palace he inherited a squad of ball playing players so he utilised counter attacking football. We have the same as Palace so I think it will be a similar style of play, maybe even more attractive.

Welcome aboard, Tony. Give the players a kick up the arse, make us hard to beat, and we'll see where we go from there.

Don't really want to turn the squad completely upside down mid season and Samaras is probably worth keeping around and giving a go.

A couple of good posts from Stairs and drewks and I agree with most points, however I want to see us play football that entertains me.
A lot has been said about Pulis and that his teams get results, but he will never get enough results to WIN the premiership as we do not have the resources, so if he can only get enough results to keep us in the premiership playing football that does not entertain, then I will take entertainment over results every time.
Results in my opinion, is not about winning the odd game but about winning leagues and cups. The best we can hope for as Albion fan’s is mid table obscurity and a cup run, a cup win would be fanatastic and long overdue.
I do not want Pulis, but I will support him and give him time, unlike those supporters who did not want or give Irvine a chance.

Don't want to go over old ground again WeeWillie, but my feeling is that there's a big difference here - Irvine came with a reputation for not being much good - and so it proved. Pulis is coming with a reputation for getting results by anyway possible.
I'd sooner we won every other game 1-0 and stay in the premier, whether you like it or not it is THE place to be

Had a convo with a villa fan yesterday who pretty much admitted he was jealous of us getting Pulis and that their manager has got less of a clue about "footballing philosophies" than TP seemed to at Stoke.
Things could be worse then!

Bomber,
Totally agree. I've watched Albion for over sixty years and seen plenty of pretty, losing Baggie teams for neutrals and the opposition to say good things about (sometimes). I've seen some very good Albion sides, as well, and believe me they had their tough guys.
I don't buy my season ticket to be continually disappointed. I don't want to wake up with that first thought in my head of another soft defeat having been inflicted upon us. I don't care if we're the scourge of other teams as long as we WIN our fair share of matches and are not regularly in the drop zone.
So, come on, Tone. Come and make us tough competitors that other teams don't relish playing. Come and make the Hawthorns a fortress again, like it's been for rare periods in the past. We've proved it's easy to be good losers. Come and make us WINNERS!
