WBA Xmas/New Year Thread
Well said Ska'd. I have thought this before. Who cares if the players like him. Players opinion has an almost zero value.

They will like anyone that makes life easy for them and they certainly won't speak out and risk not getting selected or having to train with the Juniors.

His selection is very suspect and his 'motivational' skills non-existent - he and others need to go. Tonight ideally.

I would poach Hoddle from his part-time role at QPR. We can't play Pulls football with the least physical squad in the Premiership.

Pulis, Hoddle, anyone but Warnock (and only not hum because he has just failed at CP)

Klopp is said to have resigned, now that would be a happy new year if we got someone like that !
However JP will take 10 weeks to appoint Chris Hughton with Downing as asst if he does have the balls to admit Irvine was his shocking choice.
Never been so down as a Baggie and I've seen some shit in my time.

With our run-in of five tough games, and assuming we won't get any points from those, we've effectively got 14 games to get 23 points to see us to the 40 points mark. That's going to be impossible under Irvine. JP has to act tonight, and he has to bring Tony Pulis in IMHO.
Ska'd, totally agree that some players have to take some of the blame. They've let Albion down this season.
Squirrel Regis, I can't recall being this down either, not even under Bryan Robson.

Reluctantly agree that he's gotta go.
Also agree that the new guy has GOT to bring his own assistants in.
The big question is "Who would want the job"?
Can't see JP going for anyone without good PL experience this time ......but he said that before THIS appointment too?!
Over to you Josh

I'm not an Irvine fan. I'm a fan....a baggie that wants some stability at his club.

However, when I saw today's lineup I feared the worst.

Now, despite what some on here say, we are NOT blessed with a particularly good squad of players and the cards have been stacked against AI for some time and also he has not been helped by some God awful finishing but.......

...he plays Baird instead of Gamboa and drops Varela. FFS.

BTW. Sell Berahino if we can still find someone stupid enough to buy him.

Tick, tock, tick, tock
Times up for the Jock.

....big point is, to act NOW would give the new guy the transfer window to deal in; as we all know tho JP isn't a fan of January deals.
Interesting few weeks ahead methinks.

Josh - Any view on possible candidates:
- Sherwood. Wanted it but got rejected, would he still come?
- Pulis. Has the credentials. Might be a tad direct but effective mana management and would make these pansies work
- Warnock. Just failed at C.Palace and so has no credits at all.
- who else.....?

Agree totally Aries, I have not been a fan of Pulis in the past but with our fixture run in we need him now.
It is more likely that Downing will be asked to take the reigns if Irvine is shown the door and the end result will not change Angry
