The only positive of this season, our GD being better than the rest of the relegation strugglers, is now ruined,

Look at Burnley coming back to 2-2 with City, Leicester finally winning a game, Palace have got rid of clueless Colin, QPR already embarrassed us. We are currently, imo, the best bet to finish bottom. Hopefully that will have changed by the end of tonight.

Time to go Father Ted and take Downing and the rest of the wrecking crew with you!

Come on JP, show some balls and get rid so that the replacements have time to limit the damage.

It has to happen - there is absolutely no way that AI can possibly stay on longer unless JP has no interest in the Clubs success, survival and money!

My biggest fear is that he stays but second to that is that JP and the board do not make a swift and significant change. By that, as most of you agree, I mean the appointment of a new 'Manager' and his OWN staff. This is the time to kick the loyalty for the current staff into touch - they are guilty of this by association and have been with previous 'coaches'.

Wholesale change is urgently required.

Is there a more benevolent team in the whole country than us?

We tippy-tap it around in small triangles in areas of the pitch where we can't hurt anyone. Then we bring on Berahino and effectively go down to 10 men when we are trying to get into the game.

It's the same thing every week. We're Bloody Awful.

Well I missed the entire second half due to the power in the house cutting out every few minutes. I won't ask what has happened because I can pretty much guess it based on the previous posts.

I think that Peace will act in a few hours. As soon as the club coach arrives back at the training ground, Irvine will be relieved of his duties. Downing will be in charge for the West Ham and Gateshead matches and then the new guy will be in for the Hull match.

My opinion on whether I want Irvine to stay or go is irrelevant to the outcome.

We huffed and puffed for 45 minutes when Stoke were very poor, without creating
much (little surprise with the negative selection and lack of forward runners).

Then, second half when Stoke show one moment of quality, they score and we
don't have enough to get back into it.

I don't know what is going through Irvine's head when he sets up every game for
a 0-0. If you're not going to at least try and win games against the likes of Stoke,
where are the wins going to come from?

Samaras, Blanco and Gamboa must be scratching their head wondering what they
have to do to get into this team. Especially when they see the likes of Dorrans,
Gardner, Wisdom and Baird in front of them.

Feel sorry for Varela who came into the team, injected some much needed quality,
scored a goal and then was dropped when Dorrans and Brunt returned from injury.

Irvine clearly isn't picking the team on merit and unfortunately the good trainers
aren't capable at 3pm on a Saturday afternoon.

A change is drastically needed. We need someone with a set of balls to come in and
shake things up. Lose the dross like Dorrans and Gardner, put Mulumbu and Yacob in
the middle to add some steal and actually play a few of our attack minded players
together at the same time.

Did anyone spot TP in the crowd. Not saying he was there but as said previously, he would not have wanted this picture for his first game. If he has been approached then it would be a sensible thing to have agreed, if we lose today, he gets appointed on Monday.

Just saying............

To be honest I'd have my mum manage the team in preference to the current shower.

This new year has to bring a new start at the club, and that means just about every person in the coaching staff and recruitment department sitting in the gestapo interrogation chair in JP's office, justifying why the hell they should be allowed to continue in positions which have frankly become untenable.

I'm sure Alan Irvine is a lovely man who knows more about football than most of us ever have, and I'm sure players at every level of the game admire and respect him, but is he that Winston Churchill you want in the dressing room before a must-win game, or at half-time when things aren't going your way? The evidence of the last two months suggests he isn't that man at all. These players don't need a friend; they need someone who'll put a win-or-die mentality into them. Alan Irvine has utterly failed to accomplish this with the chances he's had.

The problems don't end there. I'm still not convinced that this is a comfortable mid-table squad of players at all, and I think that transfer activity in January is imperative to steer clear of relegation. Fresh ideas are needed in the coaching staff, some serious accountability is required in the recruitment department, and a lot of our players need to shape up or ship out.

New year, new start. Please, Jeremy.
